Alright, so I just played my first MM game of Halo 3 in a few months. The only reason I played is because I had a 6 month gold account that is about to expire.
I was winning a gun fight and when the host left it turned me around. The opponent was still facing me, but I was facing away from him. This seems to ALWAYS happen to me. I've very rarely had the same position after a host change.
Does this mean I pulled host? Or does the game just hate me?

I would also like to know whether being turned around after a host change means that you have pulled host or not. It would make more sense to me that if you stay facing the same direction then you have pulled host.

I'm usually winning the fight and it's just terrible luck on my end.

I've only been facing the same way a few times but most of the time im always turning to some other direction. I think if your facing the same way you got host. Not sure though

Not sure though
Pretty sure this is correct. I read a thread about this a long time ago.....I think that the consensus was that if you're facing the same direction after the drop you're host, like you said. I rarely face the same direction after a drop, and I'm sometimes in a completely different part of the map.

I don't mean to jack this thread but this reminds of another annoying thing with being turned around. Most of the time whenever someone and I exchange melees I get spun around yet my opponent is still facing me. This sucks in mlg. What determines this I mean I can't even get my reticle back to them on 3 sensitivity before they start shooting. I go back in theater and they never got turned. [Edited on 10.20.2012 7:53 AM PDT]
I guessing that you're just gripping the controller excessively and turning when you don't mean to. Try upping your sensitivity a bit to see if that helps, or just try not to grip the controller and analog sticks so hard in the middle of a fight.

I´m facing the same direction 90% of the time when the host switches but I´m pretty sure I´m not puling host. People are falling backwards when i snipe them instead of falling sideways and I couldn´t shoot down the flying forerunner stuff on Construct either.

Although if you were sniping people, did they do a backflip? That means you're host as well.

If you see connecting to new host when the host quits, you pulled host. If it says selecting new host, you didn't get host. That's the easiest way to tell.

It's the same in Reach too.

I knew about that since 07 but it's not always easy to pay attention to death animations in a game. Also, I believe I had host because I was green bar and they were yellow after the host change.

Like last night for example in TS, the one guy from the netherlands gets host over 7 other players including myself from the US. He's green bar and the rest of us are yellow on both teams, he gets 20+ kills and thinks he's a god at halo. Same thing happened the next game with him as well. My question, how does the one foreigner get host out of 7 U.S players multiple games in a row. Its annoying when my nades take 2 seconds to release from my hand [Edited on 10.23.2012 7:00 PM PDT]
