Why the hell would you put ice in your pop?

The ice melts and dilutes the flavor! Instead of getting Coke, you get a half-Coke, half-water monster. You may as well fill half the cup with tap water. Not only this, but if wherever you're going to doesn't offer refills, then you're paying to get less pop. Now, I know what you're probably thinking: "Who's this dumbass? I need the pop to be cold! Does he expect me to drink warm pop?! What a loser. He must eat babies." Well, there's this thing, you might have heard of it, pretty new invention, it's called a refrigerator. Stick a two liter in there for 20 minutes, and it's as cold as iced pop. Plus, pop from the fountain at restaurants is already cold. Come at me.

 • It makes it colder, and if you drink it quickly enough the water does not change the flavor.

I don't ever really put ice in my cup unless it's summer time and I need something cold to drink.

 • I have no clue. In movies theaters I always say no ice. The soda is cold already and stays cold.

 • Actually I agree, I always get as little ice as possible. Also I HATE at restaurants they fill 3/4 of the damn glass with ice, it lasts like 5 minutes before I need a refill.

 • Because when it's 100 degrees out, I don't want to consume 100 degree fluids... Water dilution is much more preferable than warm flat soda. As far as the fridge argument, some people don't have a lot of room to store cans of soda and sometimes I don't want to wait for my soda to cool down. Ice is a good alternative...Here's something mindblowing...Get ice and poor the amount you know you can drink in the next few minutes...Repeat these steps and you won't have heavily diluted soda. • How long does it take you to drink a drink? Usually by the end of my drinks I still have ice cubes in there.. Plus depends on how many cubes you put in, 4-5 is a good amount for me, keeps my drinks cold and still have 4-5 cubes at the end of it. If you let it sit there for a long while of course it's going to melt.

 • I agree; I've always wondered this as well. I just chill it in a fridge for a while and it's fine.

 • Because I like my pop chilled, and in a hot environment the ice certainly chills it.

 • Ok, I don't know what kind of fridge the OP has, but 20 minutes has never made even a can of soda cold enough, let alone a 2 liter. If I want it cold fast, into the freezer it goes. As for in restaurants, if I get the drink myself, I get very little ice only because I don't want it to get warm before I finish it. Sit down restaurants usually give refills wherever I go so I don't care. Anyway, at home, I keep a minimum of 2 cans in the fridge, so when I want one, it's cold. [Edited on 10.13.2012 6:06 PM PDT]

 • I know right? I ask for a coke with no ice and people look at me like I just murdered a small child in front of them.
