How I picture the future
1. Everyone will drug themselves to be infatuated of their loved one all the time. ALL the time, for the rest of their lives. Happy people everywhere, girls in love everywhere, men getting more abstract-minded.
2. Africa will be like the one depicted in ODST.
3. Ability to shift gravity. People jumping around as if they were on the moon, or in the surface of a low-gravity satelite.
4. Ze russians still haz ze missiles
5. Racism is radically reduced. People spend their time doing more productive stuff because they can now afford cheap entertainment.

So many pessimists in this thread. If you look at history, humanity has been getting progressively smarter, less ignorant, and more advanced. I think that trend will continue in the future. First, the environment will improve with the increased use of electric cars and decreased use of dirty energy sources. Then after a couple hundred years or so, we could have space travel perfected and be able to colonize the galaxy and exchange technology and wealth from alien civilizations. I don't see it getting to that extreme, but certainly we are growing much more complacent. In my opinion, it's due to a lack of responsibility for oneself. Many people are content with being told how, when, why, and what to do rather than deciding how, when, why, or what to do for themselves.
