This is a good question: What is it like to work at Bungie?
This is a bad question: What are you working on at Bungie?
Can't talk about the game. Can talk about the life. Think of the studio. Hold that image in your mind. What's missing from your imagination? What would you want to know to complete your mental image of this place?
Posted by: DE4THINC4RN4TE DeeJ, besides keeping us entertained during the Darkness (lol), Every week you look down on us from your lofty position as an employee. However, you used to be a regular member of this community. How did your communication with community members change once you got the job?
Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Is that how you feel? I look down on you? You fine people are the reason why I get to sit in this chair. Don't think I ever forget that, and feel free to remind me if it seems like I have. Keep me honest. A lot has changed since I was (as you say) a "regular member of this community." The dialogue here has become a lot more intimate. I can remember trying to start conversations in the old Halo forums, and losing track of them as soon as I submitted the original post. Bungie.net is currently a refuge for the hardest of the core. It's a pleasure to stoke conversation here, or just watch it rage on its own. Things are easier to manage right now. If we do the right things with this next game, and Bungie.net gets invaded en masse again, I'll remember who kept us company during my first year. That's all for now. I have what I need from this Sack. Peace! [Edited on 10.02.2012 3:53 PM PDT]

What is your favorite joke? [Edited on 10.02.2012 1:41 PM PDT]

Which is better, cake or pie? Do you ever hand out on the awesome rooftop areas of your building? And how has the disembodied soul been doing lately? Doubtlessly he was punished for that little hiccup with the dragons.

What do you wish that the makers of your tools/frameworks/conventions/etc. would have done differently? (ie. Modelers gripes about Maya, network guys whine about UDP, Marty -blam!-es about the synth)

Do you have Felix Baumgartner pajamas?
-
If you won a large sum of money on the lottery, and were then (for some strange, inexplicable reason) forced at gun-point to purchase an expensive car, what car would you buy?
-
Who is your favorite mythological character?
-
What is your favourite limited/special edition item that came with a video game?
-
What's it like to be in space?
Posted by: mark117 mia2553 This question is for the web team? Are there any of you that can straight program just using a text editor than using Dreamweaver or any other html editor?
Well HTML is just text, your browser compiles it, so you don't need HTML editors. They just make it more convenient. [Edited on 10.02.2012 12:52 PM PDT]

If one wanted to play wheelchair bowling at Bungie, what halway would work the best?

Have you ever seen Stosh on a morning where he runs out of bagels? Have you ever seen Stosh on toast? Has there ever been a bagel Friday without bagels, or instead, toast? I need a metaphorical night light for in the metaphorical dark, any suggestions? How do you go about making the amazing maps Bungie is known for, campaign or multiplayer? What is the most irritating part of map design? What is your honest opinion of Halo 4 based on recent information? I keep pressing "X" but Jason Jones isn't showing up! We want Jason! Why can't we have Jason?! What was the number to call if we found Ling-Ling's head? HOW MUCH LONGER?! I CAN'T HOLD ON ANY LONGER! What qualifies as Soontm? [Edited on 10.02.2012 12:39 PM PDT]

Is there any part of your Monday routine that's different than the rest of the week? How hard is it to get the ball rolling at the beginning of the week? Does your Friday routine differ than your other work days? Do you stay late to insure you're not thinking about work all weekend, or do you rush to get out and start your weekend early? If the Bungie Studio had to be located in a skyscraper somewhere in the world, where would you prefer it to be?

Why is Bungie not a word on Bungie?
-
This has probably been asked before, but which game do you guys over at Bungie think has been your crowning achievement so far in the gaming industry? In other words, which game have you guys and girls made are the most proud of so far? And you can only pick one game that you guys have made! It can be any one from any series! Oni, Halo, Marathon, Gnop, etc.

Do you, DeeJ, actually look through all the pages of questions we give you or do you just go through the first few due to precious time?
-
What is the best prank you've ever played on someone, don't hold back.
-
Do you guys ever get together and have big office LAN parties? What's the most popular game for this if so? Are you guys going to have community play-dates for Halo 4 like you've done with previous games?
-
Strangest phobia held by any employee of Bungie?
-
Ok DeeJ, This question is for the picture part of the sack. What is your favorite Ice Cream? Are you a cat or dog person? How do you guys decide to make the story of your games? Does everyone just pitch in ideas, or do you start off with something, and go on from there? [Edited on 10.02.2012 9:17 AM PDT]

How ironclad IS Marty's fist?
-
Are you going to take me home tonight? Down beside that red firelight?
-
Do you know when you can even talk about Bungie's next game, or do the people higher up in Bungie's decision- making chain actually just tell you "SOONtm" like you tell us?
Posted by: Sean Connery
I like this. What was the process like between the cutscene people and Marty O'Donnell that made the Halo cutscenes so epic? Was it any different from scoring for a pre-filmed movie scene? [Edited on 10.02.2012 7:30 AM PDT]

What's the average age of Bungie staff members and who is your youngest?

Alright, this is a question I have been thinking about lately directed mainly towards Martin O'Donnell about the coordination of music with cutscenes. I apologize in advance if you have already answered this, I looked online but could not find a specific answer. When video game cutscenes are being made, specifically the Halo series, is the music made around the already completed cutscene or is there a lot of coordinating going on between you and the people making the cutscene? I'm guessing that the answer is that coordination is happening so as a followup question; will the cutscene be cut a few seconds if you think the music is perfect but a bit too short or will you need to add in a few more seconds in order for the cutscene to remain uncut? Thank you very much. I really enjoy your music.
