Should private group posts come up under your recent posting history?

So you make a thread or post in the main forums. Cool, it gets put under your recent posting so you can easily go back and view it. Well what if your threads and posts in private groups were tracked as well? Picture for reference. Where the forum name is, in this case The Flood, that is where the private group name will be listed. Then next to that the thread your post was posted in, below that your post, and then the date modified. Let's say that somebody was looking through your recent posting history and they come across a post from you in a private group. If that user is in the group, the post will be visible, if not, where the post's text would be, it would say something like "Join this group to see what this user has posted." Good idea? Bad idea? EDIT: Adding on to the original OP... In your recent posting history, you would be able to filter your post from "X" private group. You can already do this with the main forums, but your groups would be in that drop down list as well. [Edited on 09.30.2012 6:57 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Kivell I dont think so. In my opinion it defeats the purpose of having private groups.
I didn't even think about that end of it. I've changed my mind and don't think you should be able to.

 • I know how to solve all your griping.. Make it a private feature, like saved threads. No one can see my saved threads, and no one would be able to see my private group post history.

If I disliked it all that much then I probably wouldn't still be here. I still don't see how simple design is something worthy of praise. My point still stands, this site is functionally no different than it was years and years ago.
lol Then why don't you migrate to those other sites if this one is so bad?

 • Sure. I could see it being useful in active groups.

 • it'd be easier to stalk people, this is coming from a pro stalker btw. So I suppose I like this idea.

 • As long as only fellow group members can see such posts, then I'm all for it.
He's ungrateful because there are major problems with this site's design and feature set? Private groups on this site are a joke. There are websites where private group equivalents give you subforums, the ability to upload custom banners and tons of other customisation features. Not saying that groups should be the webteam's priority or that I hate it so much here that I'd rather be posting somewhere else, but there's no need to pretend like BNet is worlds ahead when it really, really isn't.

 • No. People wouldn't even be able to see the posts if they aren't in the group, and the whole point of them is so you can post outside of public view
Posted by: QuirkyNate No, what I post in a private group could potentially get me banned, I wouldn't want that in my post history. • That seems like it clog a user's profile with info that isn't really related to a person that isn't a member of that group, unless of course they joined because they wanted to see the post so badly. But that feature would be fairly useful, maybe like a separate tab for group post history?
