Invalid code for my Game?

Well I bough Halo 2 Vista today and I joyfully tried to insall it, while doing that - this screen pops up: "Invalid code, retype". In other words; my newly bought game has an invalid key and I'm sitting here hopelessly without any ideas how to solve this. I've tried looking for other keys online (even though I shouldn't) but without success. Do I need a new copy or are there other solutions?

  • Maybe you typed it wrong? If that's not it, then you'll probably have to buy another copy.

  • That's Halo 2 for you. There probably isn't much you can do.

  • I had this problem once before while installing Halo 2 on my computer. I simply called Microsoft support and they 'reset' my product key, I guess, and it worked after that. The call did not cost me any service/support fees and it was a toll free number. Cheers

  • Done all this..They told me there was nothing they could do. Now I'm stuck with an overpriced paperweight.

They'll buckle eventually even if it's just to get rid of you. [Edited on 10.12.2012 2:19 PM PDT]

  • Their exact words were "Halo 2 is no longer supported. I'll direct you to support.microsoft.com; sorry I couldn't help you" At this site, there is a topic of exactly my problem. No official help given. Simply put, a brand new halo 2 vista doesn't work past title screen.

  • They're quite capable of helping you, they're just not bothered if you don't make a fuss. Can't the retailer help you?

They've probably used up all of their activations for the key, assuming it's a legit copy of the game.
