I would like to ask you all...

Some very generic questions. Why? Well, I observe this site and its Members day after day and while many enjoy their stay, many others whine and complain over imperfections they may see, or go on about how things aren't the way they should be. Having seen so many different opinions here and there, I figured asking a few specific questions in regards to individuals and their activities on this site would help gauge a certain consensus of sorts. So, I shall proceed... Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit? Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first? Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness? Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating? On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be? Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses? Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
Posted by: Helveck Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
Now and the future.
Posted by: Helveck Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
Yes.
Posted by: Helveck Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
No it isn't. This website has literally been about discussing random topics since the Reach forums died down. Even when it is busy it seems more like a super-forum with player stats for Bungie's present title. Obviously there's a diamond-rich community resting here, and I love being part of it. I struggle to think of good topics, so I just reply to everyone else's and expect plenty of news links that generate discussion.
Posted by: Helveck On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
I made 86 posts on Tuesday, so I'm going to place my average around 90. Do you find you identify with many Members? We all like video games and love Bungie Studios, that's as far as it goes for me. Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses? Nope. I share common interests, apart from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and game genres I dislike. Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change. Every post. My existence on this website is my fondest memory. [Edited on 09.27.2012 2:40 PM PDT]

 •
Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
I enjoy coming here I don't post much and don't think I'm a member who really stands out. I even take multiple months off but I enjoy my time here.
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
I like this time because you don't have all the "HOWZ I GET RECONZ" or "Blue Flames" topics but Bungie not being acctive deffinatly takes away from the fun. I miss the PodCasts.
Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
Yes I think the Ninjas do there jobs, Haven't seen Recon in a while lol [quotw]Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
Yes?
On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
It depends on the mood and vibes I feel on that day but the last few days I've started a couple topics and one got hot. Woot!
Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
Wow this is getting deep. Lol I feel like I can identify with many members and agree with alot of the points they make. But also if I disagreed I wouldn't be affraid to voice my opinion.
Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
My fondest memory was during Halo Reach just sitting on here with friends playing and keeping track of our stats and challenges online. As for the future I'd really like the Podcast to come back and I'm stoked to see the Website's intigration with Destiny and how it's going to happen I have a fealing it'll be alot like EVE and DUST 514 in a way so I'm excited for that.

 •
Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
yes... but in an addiction sort of way... dont want to miss out on any info Bungie might hint to us on Destiny! they are so mean....
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
halo 2 days when they still had the clan rankings up and i could just stare and admire my teams 199th place! you might think thats sad, but out of about 35,000 clans (at the time), thats pretty damn good! •
Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
I am honestly not sure. Some days its a nice place to spend time and others I leave after reading a couple thread titles.
Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
Very much so. I feel the current mod team is doing a good job keeping the place neat and tidy while we're dark here.
Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
Nowadays I wouldn't say that I 'take' a lot out of this site, and the only thing I really give back are sarcastic statements and a little help here and there. So, meh.
On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
Not that much. And much less than it used to be.
Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
I like the Bungie games, go figure. Beyond that commonality, I am unsure of my connection with the rest of you folks. We are not on the closest of terms.
Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
Nothing terribly monumental comes to mind. I've been here for a while and it's just kind of a blur. My hopes for the future are that Bungie's next game and the next iteration of the website are the 2 best things since sliced bread. I suppose I'm also hoping that this place stays awesome once the new blood starts to pile in. [Edited on 09.27.2012 1:34 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Helveck Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
I genuinely enjoy coming here on a regular basis. You guys are a fascinating bunch of humans.
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
Nah. Here and now is good enough. I entered this site during the Darkness, and it's all I know. I'll patiently await what's next.
Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
Yes. Especially after having met some of the mods in person at PAX. By the way... no lie on that stud test. I saw Foman's girl, and the rest of you could do worse than to aspire to such a lovely woman in your lives.
Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
I'm a lurker, I cannot lie. I'm probably at least one full generation older than most of this site, and that makes for an interesting dynamic when it comes to deciding what posts to participate in. I like to think I donate to the community here and there, and I hope to share much more with you guys when the time is right. Soon(TM).
On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
0.2
Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
I probably identify with more of you than those who would identify with me. I'm definitely different (not too many tattooed-combat-vet-geeky-gimpy-mechanic-shepherdesses around after all), but I am home here. I've made a few IRL friends here, and I think the majority of you would be fun to hang with.
Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
Getting attacked by waves of wild B.Netters on Bungie Day, slavering for blood, information, and geomantic keys, all courtesy of a casual remark from DeeJ and the mailsack. You guys broke my iphone. No kidding... between push alerts from Bungie's app, twitter, youtube, and my email address, my phone nearly caught fire at RTX, and I had to turn it off and test my otterbox integrity with some ice cubes. Don't give this community a hint!

 •
Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
Yea, I actually do enjoy this place. Coming here every so often is a good means of relaxing, and does what I need it to do. Something to keep me thinking, but get my mind off of everything else.
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
Forward, to see what wonderful things Bungie has in store for us.
Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
It's being moderated splendidly. Other than the title system, there isn't a thing I really have wrong with how things are done here.
Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
I try to give what I can as much as possible, and I guess I just get lost in the masses.
On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
Around 7 posts per day.
Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
I don't feel a connection, but then I do. I do, only because we all share a passion for Bungie, not just games. Other than Bungie, I don't really have anyone here I particularly see liking me.
Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
All the wonderful information slips and spills back when Halo 3 was about to be released. The anticipation at the time was so amazing, I remember Friday nights were all about getting the next Bungie Weekly Update.

 •
Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
I don't come here on a regular basis.
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
Iris.
Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
Well, it's the cleanest of any site I generally browse. Not too much to complain about.
Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
I admittedly leech quite a bit, but I try to limit input as to when I think my assistance is genuinely required. Besides, this site isn't about giving and taking, it's about giving. Giving your soul, your life, your everything- to Bungie.
On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
On average? Zero.
Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
Too many trolls, always afraid to attempt to relate. There are the rare exceptions, but I've found in general it's quite difficult to find comfort in the majority of the fellow community under typical circumstances. Rallying behind a goal, however, is an entirely different story...
Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
Compoundintelligence. I hope that life is really restored when Bungie announces more definitive details on their new project. Other than that, everyone just needs to keep on rockin'.
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
I'd like to come and. Is it the forum's beginning. • 1. Habit. Which I enjoy. 2. The first year I joined, with all those guys and gals that were around then. 3. It's lovely. 4. I rarely make threads, but my posting activity is tremendous. 5. I relate, I like video games. Though less along the game lines of the majority here I think. 6. FastHeadCrab/Hancock's furry threads, the Spandex fiasco, GOWSam's parrot thread, and a couple private groups which are now dead.

 • 1. I enjoy coming here. Sometimes you might even find something new. 2. I think I will stay now. Then was not now and I enjoy now. 3. Yup. Never run afoul of the mods for a long time. However, sometimes incidents can go a while without a mod taking care of it. 4. Taking mostly. I give too, but mostly in private groups. Very rarely do I make any threads in the mains and the private groups are only a bit more common. However, if giving=posting, then I give plenty as well. 5. Not very high. Maybe 5-10? Sometimes it spikes, but never very long. Definitely not the kind of person who has a PPD of 100. 6. No. I recognize some members but I rarely find myself associating anything with them. I am sure I can find common ground to stand on, but I forget who stands with me. Does anyone here know me or recognize me? 7. I don't have one.

this place is so great that i don't think i could pick a fondest memory. i could pick you my nastiest memory, but since i have so many fond memories, to pick one above all the others would seem derogatory to the rest. and so long as you kep the Flood's name and the light text on dark vackround, i don't mind what changes this place goes through; i'm confident the webteam will make this place awesome whatever it does.
Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit? A mixture of the two i think Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first? 2009/early 2010 in SIP was a good time Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness? Yeah, i'm quite happy with things here right now. Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating? I tend to read more than i post but i will provide my own opinions if i feel they differ to those that have already been said and i am not just repeating others On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be? Including private groups? 10 maybe. Just public, 2 or 3. It really varies though. Things are quiet lately. Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses? I feel like i get on with a lot of people here. I am willing to hear other peoples opinions and they usually treat me the same way. Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change. Joining private groups to organise get togethers and having full party custom games in Halo 3. My main hope for the future is that the activity levels will pick up again and i will like Bungies next game so i have a reason to come here and discuss it. [Edited on 09.24.2012 5:10 AM PDT]

 • I don't really have one fondest memory of the site. It's more like a compilation of many fond memories that make up the site.

 •
Posted by: Helveck Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
It is a bit of both I enjoy coming here but it is a habit.
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
As chaotic as it was the beginning of the Halo 3 era was really fun looking back at it.
Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
I feel like the current active members and moderators have struck a point where we pretty much all get along and respect each other and the rules. Whilst there is still the occasional trouble it is handled pretty well.
Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
For a period of time (mainly due to being banned) I refrained from contributing however I have tried to even it out a bit lately.
On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
One to five is about my average.
Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
To me this place is a lot like Reddit, the voices of the masses outweighs those of the minority. Thankfully for me I agree with the masses on most things.
Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
My fondest memories are participating in large discussion threads. E.g. Quest for Mythic. The community and forum appears to be heading in a good direction. My hope is that with the release of Bungie's new game, the community stays strong and the interactions from both moderators and employees remains.

 •
Posted by: Helveck Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
It's a habit. But I enjoy being here, reading, and contributing to threads and being a part of the community.
Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
When there were weekly updates about the games Bungie were making. This darkness is slowly draining away my enthusiasm to be here.
Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
Yeah. Moderation is good, and the site looks good.
Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
I post a lot. The thing I don't do much is create threads, but I've started to do that more often. Thing is, I'd prefer my threads to be quality over quantity.
On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
15 on average, some days it's 50, some days it's 1 or 2. Most days it's in the lower ranges.
Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
There is a lot of immaturity on the forums. While I'll laugh at the occasional troll, do some one liners, there is an immaturity that I don't idetify with. A lack of manners, a lack of empathy or understanding. Not welcoming to 'casual' or new users. I relate to a very small percent of the community.
Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
This one thread in the Reach forum before the game came out, where it wasn't debating, it wasn't arguing it wasn't "THIS SUCKS!" or "Halo is COD!", it was a thread, about a feature that it seemed the ENTIRE community was behind. No one really opposed it. And we were all sharing ideas on how to make it better, or how it would be implimented. (It never did, but it was such a rare encounter where all the community agrees on something)
