Inspired by Ender's Game?
I've started reading this book as I've heard any sci-fi person should read this mandatory.
Anyway, is it just me or does anyone else feel like Bungie must have a high admiration for this book? It takes many ideas from it. It's not a clone by any matter, but it definately uses several of its ideas.

I think the only similarity would be the training a super-soldier from a young age thing. But Bungie did not take that idea from Ender's Game. The reason they are called Spartans is literally because of the historical Spartan warriors (go watch 300). I believe that in Halo: The Fall Of Reach there is also a brief explanation.
