I'm hoping they have more sense than bungie, what I mean by that is that I hope they drop that stupid "ban for 10 minutes if you quit" bull crap. That is possibly the worst idea ever conceived for an on-line game. Who the heck thought that was a good idea? Who ever it was should be fired and banned from ever working on any other game ever.

Don't quit so much OP.
-
So, since I play invasion alot and a ton of people quit out anyway...I'm just supposed to stand there and let the 6 on 1 continue for 4 minutes? How does that make any sense? It doesn't. It's a really half-baked idea at best.
Posted by: Chief Bigwig Don't quit so much OP.
This. As stupid as it is, they did set the limit relatively high.
-
Well there is going to be a join-in-progress system like the one in games like CoD or Battlefield, so I'd assume that you don't get any penalty for quitting.
-
Here's to hoping. If you do, I'll cancel buying Halo 4 all together. It's a total game-breaking "feature".
-
I quit whenever I don't like a game enough. I've never gotten the quit ban. Stop quitting so much. People like you are the reason it is a GOOD thing.
-
I've gotten it for quitting 3 times in a 4 hour period. Try again, chief. Also, I could see why you would quit alot. Your kill/death is so low. [Edited on 08.19.2012 6:45 PM PDT]

In my time of playing, I have gotten the quit "warning" just once, and never banned.
Posted by: Mikelp_1 Well there is going to be a join-in-progress system like the one in games like CoD or Battlefield, so I'd assume that you don't get any penalty for quitting.
I can only hope that works out well...

It's a stupid "feature". In no sense of logic could it ever be conceived as even a half-way decent idea. Anybody who fails to see that probably isn't even smart enough to form a full sentence. You have no room to talk about spread when you use the easiest gun in any game. Sniper noob. [Edited on 08.19.2012 7:02 PM PDT]

I find that amusing.
Posted by: Envy14 Here's to hoping. If you do, I'll cancel buying Halo 4 all together.
Posted by: Dark Hunter 2100
Posted by: Mikelp_1 Well there is going to be a join-in-progress system like the one in games like CoD or Battlefield, so I'd assume that you don't get any penalty for quitting.
I can only hope that works out well...
I'm guessing that there will be competitive playlists where the joining system is set up like traditional Halo games, but in social playlists, the join-in-progress system will be implemented. That'd be pretty nice.
-
Either way, that "feature" needs to be dropped. Just because I refuse to stay in a game where you get spawn killed over and over again doesn't mean I'm "ruing the game experience" for anybody. If they keep that "feature" they need to add a "feature" to get rid of campers and spawn killers too. That ruins the game experience alot more than people quitting.

I think the quit ban isn't strict enough actually, people still constantly quit.
Posted by: boomdeyadah I think the quit ban isn't strict enough actually, people still constantly quit.
Agreed.

By the way op responds to some of the posts in this thread, I suspect we may be dealing with quite the rage quitter.
-
I imagine one of those people that quits if his team doesn't get first strike.

OT: you seem like a major rager so you should try sticking in a game for once.
-
The problem isn't the quit ban. The problem is that reach just sucks. Think about it. People quit because the match is unfair and they are getting spawn killed by a better team. Trueskill can't work properly and find even matches because the population is so low. The population is so low because the game drove so many people away when they realized it was a terrible game.
-
Posted by: H4LO Agreed again the way to fix it is derank them for one quit lolz.
It's sad that this will actually work. Depressing how much people care about those ranks they did nothing to earn. OT, 10 minutes really isn't a long time. By the time I decide what to do with the 10 minutes, it's half over. I get quit-banned constantly too, because unless I'm in a party I'll quit for any reason I feel like. If the lobby picks a retarded gametype, if my teammates quit, if my teammates are betraying or not trying or just godawful, if I'm in an airtight spawn trap, whatever.
-
If a game has join in progress like CoD, then there should be no quit ban and only a small penalty (not getting some xp) for quitting.
