My first thought was "Oh for -blam!-s sake". My second thought "Where are the DLC playlists?". [Edited on 08.08.2012 6:13 PM PDT]

Too bad Squad DLC is going. I thought it was a pretty decent playlist, minus the AR starts. Achievement hunters are going to be upset.
-
I liked the old one better. But I guess it's easier this way for them this way since most of the retired playlists only had a couple hundred players at any one time.
-
No more action sack? That's a shame. I was starting to like it for its nice change of pace from normal matchmaking. Except for team hotshot. Freaking hated that...
-
So much of Reach's potential was lost due to piss-poor playlist organization, dreadful DLC integration, and an inexplicably bad and incomplete selection of community maps. What a depressing end to what could have been a much richer multiplayer experience.
-
Hopefully Anniversary BTB will still pop up some in normal BTB...a shame. If it were me Living Dead and Grifball would be the first to go. But thats what Waypoint likes, right?! I really don't see the need in killing the playlists to begin with. Everything was and is fine now, streamlining was what got Reach into this mess in the first place, why do it more? Lol, what an exciting update: Look at all the playlists we killed off, and then add nothing new to it! Hooray! [Edited on 08.08.2012 6:54 PM PDT]

How disappointing, all they did was rearrange playlists into different categories and left it at that. There isn't even an objective playlist for the vanilla stuff. No one is going to ever be fully satisfied.
Posted by: WolfSpirit No one is going to ever be fully satisfied.
Pretty much this. The work of streamlining two opposite communities in one game. -
So they can't maintain game options b/c they are too busy with H4? Don't remember Bungie doing something like this before Reach was released. Perhaps a different set of priorities.

How is that even good. Heavies is terrible. Plus I don't want to be forced to buy the maps with 3 months left. I would have done it months ao. Seems like a waste if they were to do it now.

I still wish Bungie could've at least held onto Reach for these kinds of things.

It's Reach, of course it is going to be bad. Heavies ruined the last playlist I enjoyed, hopefully Halo 4 isn't a massive let down.
-
What did Action Sack do to deserve to retire? Not only that, they should ALWAYS have a DLC playlist for people to play the maps they bought ._. Oh well. Looks like I gotta go get my last Defiant achievemnt I havent been able to get in 9 months, in the next 6 days.
-
regret buying noble and defiant. i thought they were going to later restrict some gametypes, how about we start with invasion? noble map pack required?
-
Great to see all of the map packs that I paid for are being put to good use...
-
I hope they put a Ann. settings gametype into rumble pit, if not I'm done with reach.
-
My only complaining here is that, I can no longer play the BTB anni maps. Where will I play them? I can't on BTB because almost no one choose them or have them. Also, I liked ANNI FFA, but no, it's gone.
-
A little upset. Squad DLC was my second favorite playlist.
-
Patrick: "Well here's your problem! You have it set to M for Mini, when all you have to do is set it to W for Wumbo!" Spongebob: "Patrick, I don't think Wumbo is a word..." Patrick: "C'mon! I Wumbo. You Wumbo. He, she, we Wumbo. Wumbology, the study of Wumbo. It's first grade, Spongebob!" Spongebob: "I never should have doubted you, Patrick!"
-
What update could you possibly want? Nothing more they can add to this game will make it suck any less. I really don't care what they do to this game, I just want them to focus on Halo 4.
-
It's a shame they retired Squad DLC, but I understand why they did it (low pop. and generally poor gameplay (Vanilla, AR starts). The only problem now is achievements. Anniversary BTB retired? I understand retiring Ann. FFA because that was often the lowest populated playlist on Reach. But BTB? Ridgeline, Breakneck, and Hang 'Em High are some of the best maps Reach has seen in its rough 2-year journey. I'm sad to see them go. What will happen to these maps? Will they behave like other DLC and only show up when the whole lobby of 16 has them, meaning once every 100 games? They took away Action Sack? Now how the HELL are people supposed to play Splockets, Shotty Snipers, and Power Slayer? I'm honestly very disaapointed. I think that with this update, 343 really screwed things up. I forsee Reach failing completely within a few months, and I think that by the release of Halo 4 Reach will have lower population than Halo 3. Says a lot about 343. They leave a 5-year old classic the way it is, people will play it. They screw around with a game almost 2 years old every month until the population is under 15,000. I think that's what will happen. Congrats 343, you really screwed the pooch this time. I give Reach 6 months before it becomes another Halo 3, only this time it will only have taken half the time it took 3. Halo still isn't dead, but it's now more than on the table in need of resuscitation. It's in a motherf***ing coma.

I'd rather playlists and gametypes be merged than outright removed so we can have that.
-
Why the hell did they take away Action Sack? It was its own playlist. It had tons of game types. Why can't do what COD does and put people with DLC with others in similar situations, and then give the option for DLC maps. Instead of 10 types of Slayer Playlists I would prefer to have Action Sack back. Reach screwed up with the play list options. It was good in the first 2 months before Black Ops but then the population dropped by 1/3rd and it became a lot harder to find a game. Halo 4 better fix this. I hope 343i have learned their lesson, Halo 4 seems to be lesson learned, Reach style. e.g. They nerfed a lot of things that were in Reach and put them in Halo 4.
