So i've been with this guy for a little while and he's so nice and caring and treats me very well....but I want to brake up with him. I just don't like him as much as he likes me and I just want to be freinds with him. So what's the best way to brake up with him and still be freinds?
-
Then just tell him what you told us. You feel like he places more value on the relationship than you do, and you don't want to hurt him.
Posted by: WyIdfyre
Posted by: MyNameIsCharlie Anyhoo. You can't. There is literally no such thing as breaking up and still being friends. Its a myth propagated by people who want to move on, and not feel bad doing it.
lol, I did it. I'm still friends with two of my exes, no hard feelings involved.
Did you go from romantically involved to friends immediately? or was there a transition period?
-
Ya, I dont think I want to inflict anymore pain upon him

It uses deja vu! It's super effective!

Tell him to -blam!- off and go for the guy with the wife beaters and ten bottles worth of gel in his hair.
-
I just need a way to tell him without hurting him too bad
-
Toaster letter.
-
Write it on a post-it.

One of you still pines for the other. They may not admit it, but they are biding their time. Or you are. No such animal as friends directly after a relationship. Maybe after some time has elapsed. A few years later, then maybe. But not right after.
Oh yeah, well it is a few years after the fact. I agree with that qualifier.

Why do the first few comments want you to hurt him?
-
Remove the brake from their car. :3
-
Hey let's break up! kthxbai.
-
I guess there is no hope in us being friends then... I think I can live with that
I just don't like him as much as he likes me and I just want to be freinds with him.
So, the moral of the story is to make sure you don't show your significant other you like them, yes?
Posted by: MyNameIsCharlie Interesting troll topic. It hasn't been done in a while. Anyhoo. You can't. There is literally no such thing as breaking up and still being friends. I don't think it's a troll though.
-
I don't really think anyway you try to do this will make it any easier for him. Especially if he treats you perfectly, but "We just aren't right for each other." is what you give him back. It's basically a kick in the balls. Even more so saying you can still be friends.

Tell him you banged his dad and it was so much better.
Posted by: BeanBean
Posted by: one rabid bunny What you should do: *Slap* "I HATE YOU!" *Storm off*
Again, I would like to stay friends with him...
Unless you have a reallllly good reason for breaking up and you guys weren't friends before, don't count on that happening. Silly girls, you are so naive.
-
It's not me, it's you.
-
I think you mean break. OT: Just tell him the truth on why you can no longer be in a relationship.
