One of the only honest reviews of Battlefield 3

Yes, it is a fun game. But the scores it received on Metacritic were bull-blam!-.

And guided missiles have always sucked.

I have BF3 for PC and I'll be honest (I play on max settings) the game is -blam!-. There are hardly any servers even with all filters off. The gameplay rewards play time over skill IMO. It's not great of a game, people defend it so harshly because they have to justify hyping it so damn much. And the singleplayer sucks a lot. [/quote] I respectfully disagree. There are plenty of servers available, especially if you turn all filters off. The gameplay rewards skill as well as time, unlocks are earned by kills and points. Which are earned by doing well in the game. Thus making it somewhat skill based. I will agree that some things (JETS) are only good if you put a lot of time into it though. I wasn't too hyped for it, I was expecting BF2 with shiny graphics and more stuff, and that's what I got. One change I didn't like was the regenerating health on vehicles (seriously why the hell was this added?). I completely agree that the singleplayer was complete -blam!- though.

BF3 is an amazing game but like it or not it does share a few traits with CoD. That doesnt make it a clone, Its an FPS and as much as people would like to ignore this issue, FPSs are VERY limited.

Fun as balls multiplayer, great campaign, fun survival mode, fun co-op mission mode. Now tell me which game is over rated.[/quote] Both instakill knifes, quick scopers, campers, overrated ful-auto weapons, and little kids in COD. In BF3 almost the same but instead of quick scopers you get people on your team that kill you with C-4, and instead of instakill knifes you get underpowered vechicals that are not tanks. Finally both campaigns seemed to cinamatic to me over pushed action, for me action is not why I buy a game. If you look at the story you would see that both of them lack emotional depth, character development, and overall both games dabble to much in theory that are conspiracies

Battlefield 3 was horrible. It tries to be Call of Duty way too hard.

Nothing more and nothing less.[/quote]Drop dead.[/quote] He is half right.[/quote]Elaborate?[/quote]Looking back on previous Battlefield games in the series: the reduced map sizes, the flag clustering, the reduced squad leader/commander roles, half of the launch maps as well as an entire map pack solely devoting itself to infantry combat in an otherwise mainly vehicle sandbox game, and the unlock system rewarding time played that unbalances vehicle gameplay are certainly design choices that are intended to draw the CoD crowd towards the series.
