Honestly, I can't believe what a amazing community it is. A amazing forum it is, too. I tried to go to another forum, but it wasn't as active or helpful like Bungie.net.

Bungie.net is the most popular website.
Posted by: Recon General B.net feels like a ghost town compared to when I first started using it. That's understandable though with it being bungies forum and not halos forum.
I think the lack of members is more because of Bungie being dark. Not much reason to get online.
-
Because of the other, MUCH larger forums out there.
-
Posted by: KilteDKilleR93 I think it's a pretty popular place.
What I have always liked about this fourm, this site, is that regular users lack the ability to do fancy stuff. It's just bold, italic, underline, and linking. So no chance of a random highly disgusting or innapropreate picture to appear. It's like that restarunt Five Guys, they focus on the quality of the burger alone and don't do unnessesary fancy stuff. This place gets right to the point of it: Discussion. It's simple, it's clean, and it is no more than it has to be. I like that and it is why I've never encounterd another fourm with such a large group of players online at any given time. It is why I like it. EDIT: Oh, and the Moderators are fair. That's a key point aswell. [Edited on 07.01.2012 12:25 AM PDT]
Posted by: MAC Blast
Posted by: Xd00999 If I remember correctly, Bungie is around 2000 on Alexa. Fairly sure we are at least in the top 5000.
At time of posting, Bungie is 16838 globally, 5785 in the US, and 5766 in Canada. Interestingly, Bungie is also popular in Bangladesh at 12178.
Considering the millions upon millions of sites in the known universe........that's pretty good.

The flood is pretty popular. But let's face it, this is a gaming site. The only similarity between users is that they like Halo/Bungie. [Edited on 06.30.2012 1:51 PM PDT]

Stop brown-nosing lol TBH this site does have a good community because I'm here lol.
Posted by: Lobster Fish 2 Quality of Community > Popularity
Exactly. I love this community, and I'm not worried about the "popularity", especially at a time like this, where Bungie has been dark for so long. I definitely agree that the forums could use some big updates though, and I can't wait to see what the webteam has in store.

Quality of Community > Popularity

Because not everyone is into gaming and untill now it's only really been for Xbox, PC and Mac gamers.
Posted by: LordOfBlah51 It's really active compared to any other forum I've been on. Bnet is really easy to navigate and use, and the community is awesome. <3 this site.
Most of the site is........ most
Posted by: CAVX Honest question, daz, is there anything you do like about this place? It seems like all I see from you are complaints or feature requests put forth with a sense of entitlement. No offense. While I'm normally not one to jump on the "Bungie.net is perfect" bandwagon, why not contribute your full input by telling us what, in contrast, does make you stay here?
Among other things, the quality of discussion that can be had, but that in itself is precisely the reason I keep whining and suggesting things - to try to make it better for myself and everyone else. At least that's my goal here anyway.

Bungie.net is a popular website because it has an awesome community, and its owners make kick ass games!

Because i am here it's fun.

I love this site with all my heart. If I had the choice to be on one site for the rest of my days it would be this one. Viva Bungie!
Posted by: dazarobbo
Posted by: FALSE R3ALITYx Yes but did you ever think about members average age? Bungie, and more specifically Halo, attracts a very young audience. There's a reason you can't embed pictures or videos on this site. The general audience is too young and there are a lot inappropriate videos and pictures out there. Maybe Bungie restricts these tools to protect younger users. They make good fathers ;)
Those are not the kinds of tools I'm referring to. I'm talking about things that a user can utilise to affect their own experiences on the site: blocking users, filtering content, tagging content, categorising content, querying content, querying content metadata, etc... Generally speaking, actions which might be possible at the moment, but either take too long, are imprecise, or are cumbersome. For instance (and anyone can answer this), if I said I wanted to find the most recent topic in The Flood about The Avengers, how would I go about doing this? How quickly does your method find the topic? Is your method accurate? How can this be improved?
I would edit this so I'm only quoting your question but I'm on a mobile. I see the point you're making because the only way into CTRL+F every page, and even then a thread like "Do You Think Iron Man is Too Rich?" talking about tony stark in the movie wouldn't come up. The only alternative is the search bar (broken) and Google (several reasons why that shouldn't have to be an alternative).

I hope that b.net gets really popular because then I'll be able to say that I liked it before it was cool.
