With luck, you'll blow them off the edge or kill them, while damaging Tartarus. Do NOT try and knock Tartarus off the platform into the killzone. He will respawn will full health. As soon as the cutscene ends, run backwards. Theres a crate full of beam rifles. Once shot will take off Tartarus's shield, albite much shorter than Johnson. Those elites are endless, so you can try just sniping his shields and let them do the work.

Bring a Spectre [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UKEsAUFh2s]in addition to the Banshee[/url] and clone Johnson several times. Get the Johnsons on the ledge. Plasma grenades from enemy Brutes won't move them (though it will affect the Spectre so you want to move that one back). Then attack Tartarus with the Banshee. With so many sword Elites keeping Tartarus busy, there will be an endless flow of friendly AI. With so many beam rifle Elites, Tartarus is -blam!- toast.
