This forum needs to be completely rehashed in the next site update
And I'm 100% serious. For those of you out of the loop, [u]bungie.net IS getting updated fairly soon[/u]. There was a recent discussion about it in the community forum and here is a quote from Achronos:

[u]As for other changes for this specific forum, here are my thoughts:[/u]
*Make it much more difficult for users to create accounts. Like approval by each.
*Any mentioning of political, religious, etc talk will be an instant ban
*inb4, nou, umad, I dont wanna live on this planet anymore, or any memes should be a bannable offense. It's SPAM and doesn't contribute anything to discussion.
*[u]Halo forums are being removed and combined into 1 forum[/u]. The only place that Halo talk will be allowed is in that new forum and here in the flood. [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=67696696&postRepeater1-p=2#67707140]Achronos said so[/url].
Change is on the horizon people. And it's gonna hit hard.

They could already ban us instantly if you misused the code of conduct so that wouldn't be in the update. It doesn't really have that much to do with the website its more at the Mods discretion than anything else. Also this would do better in the Community forum.

1. They need to allow political and religious discussion, and only lock/ban when it ceases to be a discussion. 2. They need a "My Forums" section like xbox.com so you can see the threads you have posted in. imo

1. I agree with the current account creation system. Newer members having to wait a certain amount of time prior to contributing is fine. 2. Disagree wholeheartedly. I think political discussion should be allowed. Yes it's touchy but it also has its place. Religious discussion can stay a bannable/warnable offense as it more of than not leads to ridiculousness. 3. Don't like the post? Report it. Otherwise move on. I believe the current rules work and the little tweaks that are made here or there help. No need to try and fix a system that isn't broken. The system currently in place isn't broken, so why fix it? The only improvements I would like to see is the discussion of politics/religion, albeit closely watched discussions.

1, doesn't this belong in the Community forum. 2, coup isn't getting hosed, it would just be incompatible with the changes that will happen and will have to be made compatible. 3, that seems a little uninviting, it may deter new users. 4, doesn't that already happen? 5, what is wrong with using memes as long as I also contribute to the discussion? 6, if I recall correctly, I remember reading that the Halo forums merging was a possibility, I'd have no problems with it.
