Armorless Brawl: Samus Aran vs. Master Chief?
I say 'Armorless' becase, honestly, Samus' armor is waaay more advanced and powerful than John's. But, without it, she might as well be a near-Spartan.
So who wins in hand--hand combat, no rules, no armor?

That depends... Zero Mission zero suit Samus or SSB: Brawl zero suit Samus? If it's brawl, then Chief is screwed. EDIT: You also forget that Samus is no pushover outside of her armor, she trained as a child, is very athletic, and had her DNA modified in order to wear a power suit. Big time.[/quote] I think you have it a little wrong. Samus was altered with Chozo DNA and [i]that[/i] made her immune to many alien environments. She is still super human without her suit, but her suit does giver her minor enhancements to strength and agility. The MJOLNIR armor [i]does[/i] enhance John's abilities, but he is still incredibly strong, fast, and perceptive without his armor. [Edited on 06.02.2012 6:41 PM PDT]

Big time.[/quote] John (and the other Spartans) is by no means a "normal human" outside the armor. He was biologically augmented. Even without his armor, he is still physically superior to normal humans. The suit only further enhances the Spartan augmentations.

It's quite obvious many people are posting with very little actual knowledge of Samus. However, even with that said, I don't see one having a decisive edge over the other. Interestingly, they both have somewhat similar pasts. Samus was orphaned and adopted by Chozo who immediately biologically enhanced and trained her to be a warrior from age three. John was abducted by the UNSC who biologically enhanced and trained him to be a warrior from age six. They have both performed insane, nearly impossible feats. They are both super strong, super agile, and super sensory, but not necessarily equal in all enhancements. Much of the uncertainty stems from Samus's vaguely described attributes. John has been intricately "fleshed out" in his cannon, but Samus hasn't received quite the same treatment, which leaves a lot unknown about her nature. We know enough about her suit to know that she'd be unstoppable with it--but without? I don't know. It seems very close to me. [Edited on 06.02.2012 6:40 PM PDT]
