Three things that you want from Halo 2 to be in Halo 4

Topic: What are three things you would want from Halo 2 to return in Halo 4? [i]TL;DR In Halo 4, I would like to see dual wielding, a return to the clan system, and a similar skill system to Halo 2.[/i] [b]1. Skill system:[/b] I think the slow system Halo 2 implemented was more reflective of skill than Halo 3. The problem with level jumping as seen in Halo 3 is something that lowered the visible skill gap and created a bunching from ranks 40-45. However, I would prefer high ranks from 50 down to be denoted by their skill number rather than emblems. Also, a return to the exp bar would be beneficial because it allowed for a player to know where they stood as far as leveling up/down. [b]2. Clans[/b]: I think that Clans should be brought back, and added with its own unique ranking system. Perhaps you could choose the best four players to represent your clan and then the skill level of the rest of your clan would be averaged. Your top players as well as the average for the rest of the clan would then aggregate to an overall rating that determines your clan's rank. [b]3. Dual wielding*:[/b] *The reason I originally removed this was because I think they already confirmed no dual wielding. I was not a big fan of it in multiplayer, but it would be fun as an option during campaign. [Edited on 04.22.2012 5:45 PM PDT]

  • In terms of a clan system, I'd like to see a server browser in the game. I've never felt right being in a clan where the only way to play is to make arranged game nights. Always felt natural to just have a paid dedicated server up 24/7 where people could go as they pleased. There were almost 25 million gamertags registered playing Halo 3 before Bnet shut off stat tracking. There really weren't many bad 50s, and I would believe those are players who may have bought their account. I don't think you should try to minimize 50s when you haven't gotten to the rank. Plain and simple. All my friends who are 50s would destroy those who are not unless they are playing social and just goofing around. I was going to leave clips here showing why my 50 >>>>>>>>>>>>> your 41, but I'm going to make a montage instead because last time I posted clips someone tried stealing it. [/quote]Wooooooah, hold on there buddy. I'm not trying to minimize the achievement. I know I'm not a great Halo player. I'm barely above average in my opinion. No need in comparing e-peens. My point is that it would be great to have a [i]very[/i] hard to achieve top rank. Something that only about .001% of the player base could ever achieve. That's just so people who were good enough to get 50s can still aspire to become something greater instead of feeling you've reached the pinnacle and there's no point anymore. I just feel that having the top rank should make people want to kiss the ground you walk on. With Halo 3 you're pretty much only considered a "good" player if you have a 50. You've proven that now by how you shoved my opinion aside because I'm only a 41. I'd like to see that changed. Anyways, I don't take matchmaking or playing on console with a controller competitively. It's not really my arena. I'm more of a PC player when it comes to competitive play so you'll find me relaxed when I sit down to play Halo 2, 3 or Reach.   • I almost forgot something: no invisible barriers stopping exploration. H3 was the same campaign every time since it was so difficult to get out of the map (in addition to the mostly redundant sandbox and small scale battles). [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4whmrKnQlo]This[/url] would only take a few seconds in H2. I hated how Bungie tried to keep the player on the route. That's good for first time campaign players who want to play to the story. Bad for everything else. When you see 343 Guilty Spark and Delta Halo then look at H3's campaign, you'll see how -blam!- exploration was in H3. The emphasis on Co-op is blatant and insulting. I shouldn't have to play with other players to explore the map. Spiritual successor. A weapon that captures the rof, devastation, and homing.

  • 1. Shot combos that can make a weapon shoot differently. (BXR, RRXYYRRX) 2. Clans. Hopefully a better clan system than Halo 2's. 3. Dark Campaign story. 4. All of the Halo 2 maps. I'm sure there's more, but this is what I can think of right now.

What could possibly be different? You hold one weapon in each hand... When you melee you drop your 2nd weapon. Same in both games...

  • I want many things, but they can all be described in one word: SIMPLIFICATION I don't need AA's, I just need Overshield and camo I don't need bloom or target leading I don't need 4 grenade types, I'm good with frag and sticky I don't need overly complicated sandboxes. Somewhere between H2 and H3 is fine. I don't need 20 playlists at one time like Reach has. I want a hitscan BR. H2
