They were even greater than they seemed when watching the videos on YouTube for me. It was [i]really[/i] dark at the beginning, but I could tell it was to actually take advantage of the VISR mode, which I did. All of the weapons look much better and I [i]really[/i] like the overall artistic theme; although there are places where the new theme and old theme clash with each other. Most of the weapons felt great with only two exceptions. Both the Sniper Rifle and Battle Rifle felt off for me. They felt as though they were pea-shooters due to the silencers. When I'm using a high caliber sniper, I'd much rather feel the raw power rather than it feel as though I'm shooting an over-glorified silenced pistol. The SMG was absolutely fine silenced, though. As for more about the Battle Rifle, I stated previously that the red display wasn't that appealing and I stand by that. It would have been better blue or used the same sort of ammunition display as the Assault Rifle does. The encounters felt great. It was a nice fresh up from the normal game, but in a way that completely felt right. The parts where they have brutes make absolute sense with the level and felt seamless. It wasn't even until I finished killing the brute that I even started to think "Oh, a brute in Combat Evolved!". It just fit that well in my experience. VISR mode was a great addition. Like I said before, it was [i]very[/i] useful at the beginning of the game like the night vision [i]tried[/i] to be in the original. I was originally expecting it to be something I did once, thought was neat, and never touched again. I ended up using it for about the entire first part of the level. I only turned it off to admire the work they did making the level so beautiful. In the end, I really enjoyed it and I think CMT have outdone themselves so far. I really hope they continue to keep making this better after each release. Can't wait to here what level they're working on next. I also hope they listen about the Battle Rifle/Sniper Rifle silenced thing I talked about earlier. That might just be me, though. ;)[/quote] [Edited on 02.24.2012 7:17 PM PST]

It's hard to determine which one's more scarier: The non-living Keyes thing that's the first thing you see when you turn around The Elite with the hat that can't be headshotted and spawns a living Keyes monster thing The living Keyes that pursues you and can die I hope there's more easter eggs like this. They might have been there before... I'll check when I get a chance. :P[/quote]Ok. Good luck with that. Several minutes ago, I spent some time messing with the Keyes Flood Ghost easter egg. If anything, this is the most entertaining easter egg I have ever seen in a Halo game. :D I thought I'd spice it up by clearing the grav lift area then going back and triggering the easter egg. The ODSTs were shooting at the Keyes Ghost. :P

It does fit in with the Wraiths being on the ship. T&R could have been a scary level if they had deployed Wraiths... Were they still there at a later point? Could they be the ones that come on one of the Pelicans?

There are some things that I want to talk about, like how the Hunters are now scary and menacing. Also, I'm wondering why we can't do any melee damage to them. I'm guessing the back weak-spot thing hasn't been worked on other than making them not get one shotted by headshot capable weapons. That would be why yes? Or is it just because it's too easy to circle around them and melee? Either way, it would be great if they could be meleed in the back like in H3. Another thing I want to discuss: dancing with Brutes. I'm not sure if it was their brute shots, the pressure from enemy fire, or just their intimidating height but holy -blam!-, they are scary up close. But most importantly, I want to praise the save anytime checkpoint feature while criticizing on why it takes so long to pick up a weapon. Hold E seems to take longer. Please tell me this is to stop juggling weapons. If not, it really should be fixed (or at least include the option to change it to press E, if that's possible). Right now, I've made it to the grav lift after some gameplay testing (on Normal difficulty). Dealing with the Hunters was so scary I had to take a [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtCpu9WYZps]cowardly approach[/url]: hiding behind a tree, watching my ODSTs get pwnd, weeping until the Hunter pops out and tricking him into meleeing off the cliff. [url=http://badcyborg.net/Halo/Fun/Level3/DM/Index.html]This[/url] battle. I have never tried it before and because of the new cp feature, setting up this battle is going to be so much more convenient. One last question. Regarding the performance options, they're just one click right? I just click them and then exit back to the game for them to take effect?

  • I am really impressed with SPv3, CMT truly have outdone themselves and I'd be more than happy to play an entire campaign of their re-imagining of Halo CE. The gameplay was spot on, I was impressed how they implemented the upgraded textures and visuals, weapons, even audio from newer Halo games. I do have to agree with the SR and BR comments Syx, they just feel underwhelming and a red TAC display doesn't really fit. Apart from that, it's brilliant. I'll be looking to make a video of my entire playthrough of the level at some point this week, maybe with a commentary.

  • For the first time in five years, Halo does not play at 60 fps on my PC xD. Absolutely excellent. It's things like this which stirs up my hope for 343i's future for Halo on PC's. For the first time in myself playing any Halo, this feels... [i]real[/i] The marines are tougher and more intelligent, the enemies have fantastic new clearer textures and more polygons, the weapons are beautiful, the VISR is an awesome achievement, the snow and the burnt out shades and the dead bodies everywhere... For the first time since playing Halo, nothing has felt so vivid or intense. Like any average -blam!- xD, there are some things I feel need tweaked; The brute plasma rifles becomes pretty loud and OTT in the hands of several marines, their plasmas often hit the marines in front of them. The SMG is positioned slightly to far away from the body of MC for my taste, to it fills to much of the screen, (this can be tweaked with the F7 commands though). Key's body textures, although improved, still seem out of place when you see him among his shiny surroundings and other marines. Apart from this, keep it up! I'm looking forward to the next map! Question: What's the recommended FOV for SPv3? [Edited on 02.25.2012 4:31 AM PST]
