The Next Halo Novel: Ghosts of Onyx
The next Halo novel is Ghosts of Onyx, by Eric Nylund. Let the celebrations begin! Our new publishing partner, [url=http://www.tor.com/tor.html" target="_blank]Tor[/url], will release the latest novel in November, 2006 continuing and expanding the scenarios and characters created by Nylund, and expanding the Halo universe a little bit more.

i have one major question to ask about this book.... if u dont want to u dont haave to answer it on the form because it does give qaway part of the book. but heres my question. during the end of first strike, i thought that the master chief was with fred will and linda, where did he go when they went back to earth?

The book is awesome... finished it last night, it is probably my favorite one yet. Not by too much tho... still a great book and def a must read.

The new armor is called SPI, for Semi-Powered Infiltration. The new gun is an MA5k, which is a cut down MA5B. The novel has more typos and plot errors than the prior two novels combined.

This is awsome! I've been waiting for this book to be realesed for a while. I remember when the 4th halo book was just a rumour. and now its finaly coming out! I'm expecting something going over halo2 and why the other spartans weren't in it. Can't Wait!

I've been waiting for a new novel to come out for a while. I just hope that you find out what heppens to Spartan 087 Kelly, who if I'm not mistaken was taken by Dr. Halsey. I agree with the theory that she took Kelly to planet Onyx in order to test out some new weapon systems for the Spartans and that she will be reunited with the others later. The new armor though does look a little old and that it might be the type of armor in the original Halo cpu game. [Edited on 9/19/2006]

I still think that's a mark VII. I know bungie [i]has[/i] to have a Mark VII armor in their game somewhere. Cause 7 is darker. Looks really sweet though. Those compact battle rifles look nice too. I actually enjoyed "The Flood" just as much as the others, it gave me a fuller picture of the game.

or maybe teh guys in the weird armor are teh new spartans from the new project, which took place on the planet onyx, cause the armor they wear look a lot like one of the first designs of the mjolnir armor, so maybe doctor halsey took off with Linda,, (or whateveerr) to planet Onyx to help finish teh project or somthing. with lindaa for her safety. althouugh i think im like really wrong

the first book not to have the master chief in it?!?! maybe, and i think that weird armor thing is a HAZMAT suit, I mean look at it, people in nuclear plants wear that gear to work!!! (i think...)

What lots of people dont undeerstand was that he didnt have much to work with becuase the game was already out, so bringing the covenant side to the story was an excellent idea. By the way, do you think that the MC will feature at all in this novel, because it says he defending a besiged earth?

could Onyx at all remotely tie to the structure found at Coral?? just a thought. and some people seem to confuse onyx with obsidian (hinting at the glassed planets thing here) though neither are metals. both are, primarily, black i believe. no idea if that helps anyone's postulations, but i'm a-tossing it out there anyways. oh, and i'm in the minority here, but i enjoyed both deitz and nylund. deitz allowed us to see into the covy world a bit more, which is cool.

First off, I think William Dietz did a great job with [i]The Flood[/i]. He tied in the backstory with all the other Pillar of Autumn personel that landed on Halo. Yes, we did know about Master Chief's exploits, but we didn't know about the rest of the crew. It seems to me that many people don't remember that 8 Spartans survived. MC, Kelly, Linda, Fred, and Will. The other 3 Spartans were not even present at the mission briefing that Halsey gave in [i]The Fall of Reach[/i]. Remember, she said that 3 others were on missions too distant to make it back. The Halo universe is so vast. Tons of books could be written. Is there a short and definite time frame between [i]First Strike[/i] and [i]Halo 2[/i]? Think about this for the title of the new book. Ghosts are representative of people who have passed on. It could represent of what was left behind such as artifacts, secrets, technology. Everybody is so worried about Master Chief not being the only Spartan left. I think having other Spartans left compliments him and his abilities greatly. Not to mention how much Covenant butt can be kicked with more than one Spartan. Love the books. every body is so hestitant on the fact that is going to be another two books after this. think about it. Three book coincided with the first game and so these three will most likely go along with halo 2. and will lead up to (if not including) the events in halo 3. So all this means is that there will be three very good books coming out the near future. yay

Kool man. I'm still reading 3rd Strike so you people stop saying things about the end!! Oh boy, Ghosts of Onyx! Sounds kooler than "Coral," Maybe it will tie in with some Halo 2 stuff and maybe some Halo 3 stuff.
