Promotional Video Contest
[b]Promotional Video Contest![/b]
Even seen a clip from Bungie promoting their new game that just made you go “wow”? Here’s your chance to make your own video promoting one of Bungie’s games and make them go “wow.”*
Using footage from any of Bungie’s games, from Gnop! to Halo 3, make a 1:30 (max) video promoting that game, or you can sling them all into one video and make a promotion for Bungie Studios, or you film one yourself using legos! The point is, "Be creative". Then post your video on Youtube.com (among others) and post the link here. The contest will go through seven^ rounds of elimination before declaring a victor. Below are the specifications.
[i]If your video does not reach these specs. It may not be accepted.[/i]

[*]Must be Bungie related
[*]Must contain the Bungie logo at some point
[*]Must be no longer than 1:30
[*]Must be your own creation
[*]Creativity is a big plus
[*]Must not infringe on Bungie's [url=http://www.bungie.net/Help/NoticePage.aspx?section=CodeOfConduct]Code of Conduct[/url] (i.e. No profanity, No racial slurs, No nudity.)

Just got a reply from Senor. He (and I agree with him on this) is going to refrain from judging for a while longer in case Gnome comes back. This being entirely Gnome's creation, it would be unfair to go ahead and finish the whole thing when he isn't around. Senor is going to make some inquiries and figure out where everyone else (judges) has gone so hopefully something will happen within the next few days. In the mean time, sit tight play some Halo.

Yeah, I PMed Senor Leche this morning saying the same thing I posted here. Haven't heard anything back yet but hopefully he'll agree to it. I really would judge the whole thing for everybody but I love my own entries too much. I'm sure everyone else feels the same way about their videos. [Edited on 9/20/2006]

However, due to judges dropping out for various reasons, Spoon Guard and others are trying to find new judges, which is taking longer than most people would like.

Senor, If you can find one other person who is somewhat impartial, why not go ahead and do the judging. I think this contest has been dragged out long enough. Might as well get it overwith.

One issue I just noticed, both the links under my name go to the same video. For video #2, if you could replace the link with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISqptLM0J14 that'd be great. Other than that, good work, man!

Alright, So I watched all the films on spoongaurd's list. There is some good talent out there, but just some general critiques for future video competitions...though, who am I to be a critic? 1- Its better to focus your time and efforts on one film rather than many (hard to do when you have lots of good ideas floating in your head, but even harder on judges/viewers). 2- keep file sizes small, approx. 5 mb is fine (I made this mistake! makes it hard to judge/watch) 3- first ten seconds is critical to grab someones attention (I was oh so tempted to just skip films that started just like the the last 10 I watched) 4- Creative and original is a huge plus (I would immediately put videos with new content in my good list!) 5- Keeping video tempo and beat timed with music is an effective way to compose the video (Some of you are great at this) 6- Im a fan of videos that use a mix of very quick clips to emphasise certain moments in the video (more of a personal preference, others will disagree) 7- If you don't have 1:30 of video, don't throw more clips in just to make the full 1:30. More is not always better. And thats all I have to say about that. Good luck to all the contestants, and good luck to the judges. Hope its working out for you guys. I had fun making my video!

EDIT: Also I want to make a note that my 3rd video does not work when you stream... so you have to download the file to watch it. So whoever is judging please don't think the file doesn't work... just download the file instead. Thanks! And one other thing is once its downloaded... resize the window so the resolution isn't 640x320... cause the video looks like crap when its at such a big resolution... make it about half the size.
