For example, many of us know how to speak proper english, or whatever native language you speak. But do you know the rules behind it and why you are speaking that way? That's an example of "unconscious knowledge." But is it actually knowledge if you don't know about the rules, why it is that you speak that way, etc?
In my opinion that's a major contradiction. Not knowing and knowing don't go hand in hand. Knowledge helps you move forward. But you wouldn't be able to move forward without knowing why you can move forward, let alone how to.
