Pick up January's Game Informer for the whole read, but here's the main idea of the newest Splinter Cell, coming this Spring:
So far, Sam's daughter died and he went into trauma, sorta, and begged Lambert for a mission, so he had Sam do a series of carefully planned bank robberies with fake civillian deaths that got Sam arrested and sharing a cell with an urban terrorist. Sam's orders were to help the terrorist and Sam break out, and have Sam be ommited into the Terror unit, called John Brown's Army.
From there, you have to complete Third Echelon and JBA objectives in each level, gaining trust with the JBA. You can choose in-game what objectives you complete, you can either remain 100% loyal to Third Echelon or commit some JBA acts that are morally-straining.
The multiplayer system has been seriously upgraded. Spies are far more versatile, and mercenaries can send in remote-controlled drones into air vents and other crawl spaces to chase the spies. Levels are now much easier to learn, and the mercs are now the Upsilon Force, no longer ARGUS.
That's as much as I can remember from the article, have fun!

I got tht issue like a day or 2 ago it is very interesting, shanghai team is doin this project.
-
It looks soooooo awesome.
-
God, I can't wait. SHANGHAI SAM FISSSSSHHHHHHEEERRRRR
-
Personally, I think it will suck. First: Shanghai is making it... along with many others, I thought PT single player sucked Second: how is it a SC game when Sam has to make decisions that are against his NSA mission? Third: WTF is up with 3vs3 SvM? It is supposed to be 2vs2, and Ubi devs even said that it wouldn't work at more than 2vs2. More proof of them mainstreaming it.
-
Sounds intresting......................

Either way, it wouldn't work because of the levels. They're fully revamping the multiplayer section now. It is a SC game because Sam is still an NSA agent, but this time he's working as a double agent to neutralize the threats. He's still in NSA, but he also had to join an urban terror cell.
-
Maybe they added a new element that will make 3v3 possible.
-
splinter cell sucks! Metal gear solid rules!
-
Maybe..........I'm looking forward to it, loved all the SC games so far...............
-
Why the hell is Shanghei making it, after the travesty that was Pandora Tomorrow and the orgasm that was Chaos Theory I they would at least have the common sense to let Montreal do it.
-
Pandora tomarrow wasn't that bad.........I thought it was really good............
-
I read on Gamespot boards that Montreal is doing the current-gen version of the game. So maybe the game won't suck, since it's more of a collaboration.
-
I know that they are both Ubisoft offices just in different parts of the world........but whats the difference if shanghai does it?.........if Montreal does it?............
-
They're letting Shanghai do it because they can handle it. And Let's get this straight: Montreal did Pandora Tomorow's Single Player. Shanghai did the Multiplayer section.

PT sucked, and Choas Theory owned. But is it true that Shanghei only did they multi? If it is, the game might be great, since it does sound really promising.

In the article, they mentioned Shanghai already contributing to Splinter Cell, the Pandora Tomorow MP. They didn't do the single player. Can't you feel the difference between playing as Sam then switching as a Splinter Cell in Multiplayer? It feels so different, it doesn't play anything like you do in Single Player. You/the magazine are wrong! Shanghai did the PT single player, and Annecy did the SvM for PT and CT! Montreal did the SP for SC and CT and the coop for CT.
-
I have the magazine right here.
-
Well, the magazine is wrong then. Shanghai did only the PT single player. Annecy has done all of the SvM so far.
-
The magazine gets their stuff directly from Ubi. Shanghai did PT's multiplayer, and Annecy took control of it for CT
-
NO they didn't! Read this! That is on splintercell.com... the official site. Here is the quote if you don't want to read the article: "We will soon be launching a Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Beta test for the multiplayer versus mode (Ubisoft Annecy, developers of Pandora Tomorrow’s versus mode, are the developers)."
-
I think this sounds pretty awesome...Splinter Cell with a KotOR-style morality system. Makes me happy in the pants, it does.

Aj6627 is right. And magazines makes mistakes.

You know, this mini discussion might just be relevant to what happens in DA in the jail. :|
