  • Reflection looks [i]incredible[/i]! Ivory Tower was my favorite Halo 2 map, and blending that with Japanese aesthetics is just plain awesome. Reach is going to be mind-blowing in terms of epic win. By the way, if anyone's been wondering what that large golden symbol (kanji) is on the wall on Reflection, it reads "South". I mean you created the Best console FPS ever made... The story, characters, universe, music, etc is just EPIC! I have been a Halo fan for 10 years...   • So much to say, where to start... I think that the ranger armor for the elites is the single most BAD @$$ thing I ever saw. i really got into the idea I was an elite during the beta on Boneyard (thank god for party chat or my team would have heard my elite voice :P). But besides the Sangheili armor, the maps look really... Its either pretty, beautiful, B.A., cool... or maybe just all of the above! But I really hope this isn't near the end of maps. No offense but I can't see 5 maps for regular multiplayer keeping me occupied ( Forge Worlds maps will definetly add tons of maps, but seeing the same type of buildings over and over could get boring). I suppose the invasion maps could be used, but it still feels like there are slightly less maps than there were from when Halo 3 shipped... oh well. Only 39 days between me and that campaign, he he he. I have a tradition of spending the whole first day of any game just playing through its campaign (some days seem longer than others, and some campaigns more rewarding than others). But as for the 2nd day i must decide, whether to Forge an epic map, or to get as much of that first week multiplayer experience as I can... heh... So little hours there are, and so many options. Wo, it appears I've gone and written a novel. I think I should go and get this published. Then I could use the money to buy the game.

  • LOL'd at the forklift. I am a tiny bit upset that zealot and field marshall look so simelar, if we have to use preset armor sets, then they should at least be as unique as possible. Same at how the second person sits in the Reverant, it just seems odd that the Coveant would put an extra seat just for somone to sit in right next to the driver, most of thir stuff is symetrical...

  • The weapons in reach are all pretty much the same in Halo Reach. You have the DMR which can kill somebody if they are out in the open for a REALLY long time, and then you have the basic weapons (plasma rifle, pistol, assault rifle, plasma pistol) which are all practically identical in that you charge at the guy shoot and smack, and then you have the overpowered weapons. Thats the entire game! In Halo CE, the plasma rifle slows people down but its difficult to hit somebody with it if their moving side to side. So you stop them from doing that and close in. Assault rifle is basically the weapon that is excellent for keeping people back, or closing in when you have them cornered witha grenade. Shotgun is a good burst damage close ranged gun that can finish people after a grenade instantly, or instantly kill them up close, sniper rifle is burst far ranged gun, pistol is your normal far ranged gun. Every gun has its own purpose and is not overpowered, as opposed to Reach. In Halo Reach, the entire game revolves around camping and getting cheap guns. I got almost all my kills in the reach beta with the shotgun, and did amazingly well. And I did so by camping in a room every game with the shotgun!!! No strategy at all! In halo 1 that wouldnt be doable cuz you could flush a camper out with grenades because the grenade explosions were slow and big and so required people to react and move. But in halo reach, cheapassness is the name of the game. My brother camped a tiny room and meleed people and it worked amazingly well because nobody could flush him out. All he did was camp a lift the entire game and he got lots of kills. Halo reach is a lame game, that looks cool. It is possible to kick some ass, beat a team by about 2:1 if you have cheap weapons. Beyond that, all the games are usually very close. I remember when i played halo 1, a good team could completely destroy another team if their reactions and teamwork were good. Halo Reach is not a good game. End of story.
