Halo PC keys connected to something in Halo Reach?
Hey, forgive me if this is the wrong forum, but I'd love to get a response from Urk if possible.
We've been told many times over the last year and a bit, that our 25-digit Halo PC keys will unlock something in Reach (I'm thinking probably something similar to the Halo 2 emblem thing). Well it's been ages now since we've had an update on this, and whilst I'm cool with whatever it is being a surprise, I'm a little suspicious as to maybe whether what it would've been was cancelled.
So, can anyone tell me if our Halo PC keys will come in handy for something with Reach (not implying that I/we would throw it away lol)? :)

Whoa, people! My PM box just exploded after replying below. I can't field questions on an individual basis, and there are getting to be too many posts in this thread for me to read everything. The answer: wait and see. And don't try and buy it now, because the list of valid keys was locked in May to those already used, to prevent us from being overrun by keygenners. A few more weeks of patience, and we'll start validating keys, PC and Mac. The reward is a small visual thing in-game, similar to what we promised for Halo 2 players. Please self-police this thread by pointing people to the main answer: wait and see.

I have the full list of every "yellow sticker" code printed, and I'll just use that list, rather than the list of keys-played-online-before-May-26th.

I LOVE YOU FOREVER NOW BUNGIE thanks for giving me a second chance at getting a halo game. I had 3 Halo 1 PC games total, 2 I gave out, the other I lost. I'm buying one right now.

Hmm, I think the Staples in my town still sells Halo CE in a bargain bin of old games... I think I might just take a stroll down there, buy a copy, enjoy it for a teeny little while... *rejoices that the CD code cutoff date has been eliminated ^_^* I don't have the greatest computer in the world and I've already played the heck out of the XBL Marketplace version so don't take me as completely greedy or needy :P [Edited on 08.20.2010 6:43 PM PDT]

Bungie, if possible: please make it so that we can download halo pc on GFWL by registering our keys, and make it available through digital download =)

Answer to question 1: If you played online with it (multiplayer over the internet), then yes, it's fine. Answer to question 2: French, UK, USA, Australia, Africa, Spain, Iceland, Zimbabwe. Wherever you bought it, it'll work. :)

Well I atually have some questions: I got halo:ce years ago and I have a valid CD key. But I haven't played the game for a long time now. Is my CD key still valid/saved? My second question is if the fact that my halo:ce game is actually the french version, is the CD key still valid? Thanks!

I also don't think there are any legit keygens out there for online play. I'm just glad I found my key from when I used to play Custom.

There is no real keygen for Halo PC. The ones found on the internet simply cycle through a list of acquired keys. Pirated online capabilities are achieved by using hacked exe's.

Just find a used one and contact the seller, see if the serial code comes w/ and ask if it has been used before May 26th. That's what I did. (although I hope I'm not breaking any rules by saying this....)

So one small question. Is there any way for me to tell if my key was from a key-picker? I had a legit one a long time ago and I'm not sure if the one the key recovery tool found is original or not. I have played online with it quite a bit on custom edition. I ask because what if I check my other PCs and find different keys? Thanks [Edited on 08.16.2010 1:52 AM PDT]
