• I have a nasty headache right now. I may have missed this in the update and didn't have a chance to read through a bazillion posts to find out if it's posted elsewhere. It's also safe to say the Urk will work into a weekly update at some point. Seeing as how ranking is global cross gameplay mode thing I really only have one question. Will multiplayer ranking have any effect on campaign play? It would kinda suck for the player who ranks up to Colonel or General before dropping into the campaign on Normal to find themselves stuck in a Mythic situation. I figure it will have some minor effects on the gameplay but nothing major for that reason alone. Or there could be an option to decide how much Rank effects gameplay like how the difficulty setting works essentially functioning as a multiplier. Sometimes I wonder why I didn't go into game development since I have so many wonderful idears and this is thought up with a nasty caffeine withdrawl/sinus headache.

 • Sigh... I agree. So many posts I've seen already that compare Halo with Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 2, to be precise). It is very annoying, as the game isn't even that good (to be fair, it has its qualities, like the custom class system). I don't want to see Halo turn into MW2. In regards to the loadout thing... That is specific to the gametype (or related). It doesn't go individual players, as that would be a serious problem for types that use the loadout function. Anyway, my post wasn't very good. Hopefully it is worth the patience.

 •
Posted by: AoA x TwiLiGhT And Halo has officially merged with Call of Duty. I knew this day would come
Okay, enough. I'm tired of people saying that. A), get over the loadouts. B), would you people stop saying that? It's not true! Here's the deal: in Call of Duty, you get perks, or abilities, that you can mix and match to make a skillset. Now, in Reach, it's totally different. Think of a specific group of abilities as a certain loadout. This loadout will always be this specific set of abilities: you cannot edit them. Think of the system as this picture. Hope that cleared it up. Note: By the way, sorry about double post. Didn't notice Twilight's post until after I made my first post. [Edited on 04.11.2010 5:44 PM PDT]

 • what i'm wondering is if you'll be able to add decals or stuff to your armor, like Emile's skull (or Dutch's, for that matter). i don't mean insignia-type things, i mean decals that can go on your helmet, breastplate, whatever. that would be really cool.

 • I strongly agree with your opinion, as I too feel similar about the Elites. However, the Elites are getting quite lively in Reach, as they have their own racial statistics and abilities that outrank the spartans (keep in mind that the spartans we see in Reach are not like the spartan we saw in Halo 1-3). Elites had very boring and insignificant armor pieces (except for the Assault) in Halo 3. Not to mention, Elites looked far better in Halo 2 than Halo 3. So I agree with you, AgentExeider.

 • I read the article and I'm somewhat concerned for the local players. I hope that there are alternatives for players who don't have Xbox LIVE or can't connect to it. I myself, though connected to live, did some Halo 3, and whatnot, I have a large majority of friends and family that aren't Xbox LIVE enabled, let alone a paid subscription. Of course, there are 'some' possibilities of players earning credits (campaign, achievements) offline. Of course, it seems that you still need an Xbox LIVE connection to get those 'missions'. I fear that local players will barely able to earn enough credits to get certain armor pieces. I can understand the concept of Trueskill, though, as well as the anti-farming method you guys are constructing. It's unfortunate that players go through that much just to get cosmetic pieces for their spartans. Nonetheless, I'm just concerned about local friendliness. I guess emphasizing campaign as a means to get credits offline, but all I can do is listen.

 • In addition the the ODST as well, personally like the ODST more than Spartans and Elites for some reason. Not sure why but they hav attraction i like, able to carry more ammo and gernades and their own spec-op weapons. ONly thing missing was their own assaault rifle and Silencer sniper rifle. ^^

 •
I'm personally unbiased to the elite v.s. spartan debate the point of the matter is all Halo games have revolved around Spartans because you are a spartan in all the games except for halo 2 the only thing i will add for the elite's argument is i was/am hoping for the Honor guard armor would be totally kick ass but it's Bungie's game if you don't like it don't buy it it's as simple if they didn't want you to play as an elite they wouldn't give you an option. i'm not saying the Spartans are better i'm not saying elites are better i'm merely giving my interpretation of why Bungie is doing what they want to
using tried and true cop-outs of "It's a Spartan's world your just living in it." and "Its Bungie's game" or the "Don't Like it, Don't Buy it" isn't a valid reason, they are cop outs to justify an excuse to not address a valid concern. As I stated in my post I previously addressed these exact reasons. No more can these be used to end the conversation. The issue remains and ignoring it will not make it go away. What I've proposed is a legitimate concern and a polite and productive suggestion for fixing it. [EDIT] I will tell you exactly why they are cop-outs "It's a Spartan's world your just living in it." - World War 2 stories often center around US or Germany, but there are many stories that are just as heroic or evil if you look into them. Britain and Italy respectively. All I am proposing is lets look at their stories for once, instead of another story either involving the US beachhead at normandy or Germany and the death camps. "Its Bungie's game" - True, but they have even admitted that they look to us for concerns, for what we want to see. And like any community, the loudest concerns will be addressed first and sometimes the only ones addressed. So the fact is, I am voicing a concern, just like I am expected to,as a consumer of a product. "Don't Like it, Don't Buy it" - This is the most BS of reasons, because its just silly. Elite players and I would even venture to guess all players, are not so Black and white about things, that either they get what they want or they leave. Again, we too enjoy the stories of the Spartan's and the general "Halo-ness" of the games. The games overall are very good, and very enjoyable. Again we are voicing a suggestion that we would like to see, giving feedback on a product in efforts to make it better, or suggestions for additions to the product, so Bungie will increase the probability of seeing my patronage and money again. This is why they are cop-outs because they do not address the original concern and in fact serve to detract discussion from the issue at hand and create a sub-discussion or sidecar discussion into "Should we even be discussing this?" or further explanations as to "Why, we should be discussing this?" Which serve to waste time, energy and derails discussion at the topic at hand. And infact is so effective that doing this intentionally say in a Political climate you can keep debate raging for years while nothing gets done, or you have the community so busy with each other, you can get away with anything while there not looking. [/Edit] And for those who have discussed privately with me, I cannot understand why there is such resistance. And no we will not be ignored or brushed off, this is a true legitimate concern to me and I will see it through. Again, no demands are being made. But a simple request, an audience if you will to voice these concerns. -AgentExeider [Edited on 04.02.2010 10:09 PM PDT]

 • Mmm i look foward to reach but i hope an ODST series is something bungie would do afterward. Nice to pay a human with no shields, presents a challenge for the user making him more catious than the Spartans. IN addition to customizationg to them and whoever they face in multiplayer. ^^ But have a squad of ODST at your side like Reach with weapons and vehicles that we've seen in halo wars and not yet seen. Need more soldier and playable characters in multiplayer besides frm just elites and spartans. But Reach so far hold great promise looks like AI be more of a challenge which i look foward to.

 • Hmm, it does sound like us Elite fans are going to get shafted on customisation again, but I'll wait and see what you guys have planned for us. It better be an improvement on the paltry 5 armour sets we got in Halo 3, that's for sure. (Footwear customisation for both Spartans and Elites would be a plus, too. Just in case Elite players want to use either the original Halo-style boots or the Halo 3 style boots.) [Edited on 04.01.2010 4:27 AM PDT]

 •
i believe bungie has right to do what they wish it is their game afterall.
And this is exactly why I was making it in the form of a request and not a demand. Bungie will do what they choose to do, but I am hoping to raise awareness on their level in the hopes of finding a possible solution. And yes, we do learn about them in the books, and Halo: Legends. But again, i said we don't "Experience" I chose that word in particular because I would like to play through their eyes and go through situations from their point of view. To experience what the story is like from their point of view. -AgentExeider

 • While i do agree spartans do get alot more attention than elites do and that i do respect the elites, i believe bungie has right to do what they wish it is their game afterall. ^^ Also you do learn alot about elites in the games and in the books if you rear them and rather intersting since books take both sides. Though ODST halo wasnt everything i hoped i rather enjoyed it despite that spartans still get more attention, as i said before ODST my personally favorite. But perhaps in next Halo reach or hopefully another one we will see more elites customizations or even another alien type. Personally more human marines and odst customization i love to see since more evolve arouns spartans.

 •
"A. It's not hate, it's a different kind of love."
Yeah, Hate requires a form of attention to execute. this is more of a Neglectful, spiteful form of love. the kind were you leave somebody's fish to rot in the tank for a week without food only to come into work and find that the tech's ignored the fish and let it die. poor catfish, i liked him too. The same can be said here. Elites have always gotten the short end of the stick, if they even get a piece of the stick to begin with. Look I don't like being angry, I don't like being "that" guy. But the fact is, Spartans always get the fat loot. the kind of thing where my friend is going "OooooooH DAAAAAAMN!!" or "This is the baddest BLAM! ever!". FACTS: We didn't get a cool accessory for getting all the achievements, we didn't get a cool armor that we could earn. We didn't get the same number of armor pieces. And now your saying, We won't even be able to customize our elites the same way as Spartans. We elite players have been waiting patiently and calmly, unlike some Spartan Players I've seen, who demanded Recon NOW NOW NOW! or were furious when they were mad that they didn't get their Security Helmet. But the truth of the matter is while we strive to have the virtues of patients and calmness, I am still annoyed that we have been passed over again. And while in the end what I say can fall on deaf ears and you can choose to ignore me, I'm hoping that you would have the candor of reading this with an open mind. I would request, not demand, request that consideration be made in the future for Elite content to be made available. Even going so far to suggest that If you decide to develop a expansion to Halo: Reach that it be made Elite centric! And before you ask, No I do not believe that is an over reaction, It would be fair. There have been 3 soon to be 4 games Spartan Centric, plus one expansion Human centric. So all I am asking is that the score be made a little more even instead of being a complete shutout. Humans 5, Elites 1? Something that would include the same level of customization that Spartans receive, some elite centric achievables like the Spartans have (Ex. Recon, Katana Sword, etc.) and even a Elite centric campaign. We have experienced a lot about The humans history and human role in the war, but we have experienced almost next to nothing of the Elite's side of the story, from THEIR point of view. Now I know some are going to say "But Halo is ABOUT Spartans and Humanity, that's why its centered around them." In the begining, yes, but Halo itself is a large and expansive universe where many stories are created and told. To say its ONLY about Spartans and Humans is the mark of a closed world view. I say isn't there room enough for "That" side of the story? This Schism has existed since Halo 2, now I'm not going to blame bungie for what happened because I know that they are perfectionists and there were a lot of things wrong and didn't want to release the game like that. So I am not assigning blame when I say this BUT it needs to be said. The Elite players have been playing with a marked dis advantage since Halo 2, yes the whole hit box thing. Again, not assigning blame. However we elite players lived with it in the hopes Bungie would fix the problem, and in Halo 3 they did. They Balanced the elite and brought him up to the level playing field the Spartan's were on. However, because of the aforementioned issues (Recon, Katana, Less number of Armor Pieces.). It was very clear from an early point that Elites were being regarded with a dismissive attitude, as if to say "Elites are not like us." And I would respectfully disagree, I believe we have contributed just as much as Spartans to the on going Campaign and Multi-player environments, we too are good players, bad players, team builders, team killers. I also believe that Elites have a rich history and a interesting story to tell, if only we open our eyes to see and open our ears to hear it. In conclusion, I respectfully request that in the future Bungie give consideration to my words in the hopes of future inter-species relations to be a positive and open environment were peoples of all walks of life, be your purple blooded, split-chined alien death machine, or Cybernetically enhanced, AI powered Minister of death praying for war. Can live, work, play together and on occasion jointly be the likely source of rampant property destruction, dead police and the sudden rash of pregnancies that happened that one time on the east side of the city of that one planet we were on after the three night bender involving strippers, drugs and alcohol. But otherwise living in peace and harmony. Thank you for your patience and consideration. -AgentExeider [Edited on 03.31.2010 8:46 PM PDT]
