How Old Were You When You First Experienced Halo?

I was about 11 or 12 at a friends house. I didn't have an xbox yet so I was really excited every time I went over because I knew we'd play Halo!. The good memories are still there though. You? EDIT: Don't forget to tell of the first experience or memories! [Edited on 04.27.2010 5:19 AM PDT]

 • I believe I was 20. I remember it was a couple months after 9/11. It was most definantly a welcome hiatus from all the worries and stress swirling all around the world. I recall my friends 20th b-day was on 11/17 but we pitched in and got him an X-box and Halo a couple of days before his b-day. There are a few moments that really stuck out in my mind. 1.)Trying to get the hang of driving the Warthog I didnt get that it steered towards where you were looking. 2.)The Library level trying to figure out where the rockets were coming from... I still remember that one darn flood in the shadows with the rocks. 3.)The first time I got my hands on a tank *ownage* 4.)FINALLY killing those elites before they got into their banshees (I believe I held onto a sniper rifle for a long time to kill em) and then I just used the rockets to knock the banshees off the ledge. 5.)Realising the Mag OWNED 6.)Last but not least answering ads in the paper to attend lan parties. God bless those old Mad Cats lan hubs. (I still have the green cat-5 cables that came with them)

 • 7 i think. My dad came home with an Xbox, which came with Halo. At first I was only allowed to watch him play, (being an M game) but then he insisted he needed help a few missions in. That' been the pattern of our play for every consecutive Halo: Co-op legendary, right off the bat.

 • 8 I believe. Second grade. First match was an offline Slayer match against my stepbrother on Coagulation. I fell in love with that tank, and I fell in love with Halo.

 • I was around eleven years old when my brother's friend came over one day,(my brother was only eight) and he had a bag of games, there was Star Wars Battlefront II, some other Star Wars game, and Halo 2. Halo 3 was already out by the time that this happened, but I didn't own an Xbox 360. Halo 2 was by far my favorite, so we borrowed it for about four months until he took the game back, from the time that he took the game back, to the time I bought my Xbox 360, all I did was raise money for a new Xbox 360 to play Halo 3, but that wasn't the first Halo game I bought. The first Halo game I bought was Halo Reach, back when I first got Xbox Live. But another one of my friends, who had an Xbox 360 for five years and never got Xbox Live,(until now) brought over Halo 3 before that, and I kept bugging him, asking him what matchmaking was. He said that it was where you could play with other players over Xbox Live, and I kept trying to get on it. He was pretty annoyed, but he should have told me that you needed an Xbox Live Gold membership to play on Xbox Live. Halo 2 is still my favorite Xbox game, and I was sad when I found out that I would never be able to play it Live because Microsoft shut down Live for the original Xbox.

 • I was 12 and I remember hating the game at first and going back to perfect Dark. Gave it another chance on a boring day in the summer a few days before I turned 13 and oh my god best game ever. Not sure what changed but I do remember not liking the game at all the first time I played it.

 • I was 12... my cousin just had recently got an X-Box from his parents along with Halo, and we stood up the entire night playing split screen. Because of that... my parents refused to buy me and my brother an X-Box, Because they thought we would stay up all night again. So they bought us a PS2 instead. *Facepalm* [Edited on 06.01.2012 5:25 AM PDT]

 • The first time i played it... I was 4..... I was at my cousins house (he was only 2 years older than me) and he had just bought it. I loved it and bought it 2 years later when i got my first xbox. Then i got halo 2 and then halo 3 in 2008. Terrific series.... Until Reach disappointed me with the first bad campaign (yes even ODST i prefer).
