I'm not sure why but when I was checking out at Bestbuy my total was surprisingly low. I had purchased Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and a pack of 8 Duracell batteries, the total was $7.60 after tax. I was quite shocked, shocked enough to inquire if there was an error made by the machine. The reply I got was "No, that's the correct total". I'm still confused. Does anyone know what happened?
Posted by: Darkness Howls It was probably a sale combined with free battery day in the vintege crap CD section.
Chaos Theory isn't crap and it isn't a CD. It's still one of the better selling games out right now. [Edited on 9/26/2005]

I'm still confused as to why it happened. So much so that I might go back and ask the manager.
Posted by: slayer 56857 you lucky mother -blam!- even though splinter cell sucks
Lay off the hateraide. Splinter Cell is cool. Just cause you like halo doesn't mean everything else sucks.

$7? I can't explain that...

I too have a similar story, but not nearly as good of a deal. About a week after GTA: San Andreas came out, my friend and I went to Gamestop to buy copies. I paid for both since he didnt have enough money on him. When I looked at the reciept, I was charged $50 for both. Then as we were walking out the guy came running after us, I thought he realized his mistake, instead he handed me my discount card I forgot. Two games for the price of one, alright.

Or, maybe you live in some weird state or city with negative tax...
