11.1 million in Firefight and no show: Bungie care to explain?
In our attempt to reach the ODST Firefight leaderboards, my friends and I made it our goal today to reach a score of 10 million. We started a little past 12 PM EDT and played through 11 PM. By the end of the game, after spending all our lives, we had a score of 11,156,131.
All of us are across town from each other, so we were all playing the game on our own Xbox 360s over the Internet. There were no connection problems throughout the entire game. In fact, since we were each connected over the Internet, if there WAS a connection problem, the game would have ended right there and thrown us ALL out of the game.
About 10 minutes after waiting for our score to appear, we started another round of Firefight to check is the servers were backed up. We got one kill, then ended the game. Not surprisingly, the short game of ~500 points appeared, but there is still no trace of our 11.1 million score?
It's extremely frustrating and disappointing to literally waste over 11 hours, reaching a new record, only to have it not count. The bug is not with us, but with the game or the servers. Firefight is a huge part of ODST, and the stats are a huge part of Firefight. It's quite obvious Bungie wants to put a lot of emphasis on scores, motivating people to play the game with leaderboards, service records, and "flaming, red-eyed skulls". With this bug, the motivation is gone.
So, why is this happening? Why does this bug even exist? Is it something we are doing? Is it flagged for review? Will it ever post? Is anything ever going to be done about it?

Actually, I see what you mean. Did you save the film? If so, submit it to bungie, man. You've got the highest medium record. Excellent job. You must've spent longer than the legendary guy, because you have a higher base multiplier on Legendary. I got 500000 or so, but thats small beans compared to this, even though it WAS solo...

I posted here with hopes of raising attention of more than just one person reading thousands of emails. Currently, the film is not uploaded. You wana be up there I suggest you and your friends cower in a corner with a Chopper and Hold the RT till your trigger finges give you carpal tunnel. Solo vs. Co-op > Difficulty > Points You got 11 million points on Normal with other people helping you. If you want the fame, try doing it on Legendary on your own, and preferably on a map other than Lost Platoon.

Well...the leaderboard may have a bug but I can tell you why you didn't get the Demonic skull...it's on normal...dig deep for a bigger pair and do it on legendary...if you survive to another 10mil...then you get the Demonic Skull.

Sorry to hear about the score not being recorded, thats awful news for such a high scoring game. I've had that happen... not getting to 11.1 million, but into the millions. Add me if you ever need another player that likes to go for the high scores on Heroic/legendary. GT:FETR Antihero
