Weekly What's Update
A long one this week, but really we're just catching you up on where we are, what I'm thinking and some really good news about modding, cheating and so on.

i wish that there could be an easy way to show someone is a cheater and they cant play matchmaking. Like putting something on the gamertag to show that they are cheaters. An easy way would to make there names black instead of white. So people can know right off the bat that they cheat. The halo movie sounds cool. Keep it up bungie.

1. More sabre-rattling. And another push back in the release of the auto-update. Is the update being held up by some Longhornish technology? A week or 2, is a week or 2 off my XBox Live subscription. 2. Modders will always find a way. For all the chest thumping, I’m skeptical about Bungie’s future commitment to prevent modders from playing on Live. XBox 360 is only 4 months away, Halo 3 is being planned, and Microsoft already has your $ from Halo 2. Really, what’s the financial incentive to continually identify, warn, ban Halo 2 modders indefinitely? IMHO a better long term solution would be for each player to be able to highlight recent players, and “ignore” them so that those players would never be MatchMade together again. That’s how instant messaging has worked for years. And everyone: if you find someone that is not totally repulsive online, make friends, and travel through MatchMaking together. Bungie says it can identify modders. Well, then change the game code so that modders wear bright orange armour in-game, so that everyone else can identify them too. [Edited on 7/16/2005]

I dunno if you really care about it...but I would like....If nothing else, that Halo 3 had Live Co op Campaign. And could you boost the SMG's clip cabibility a bit? Cause I hate killing about 3 elites and 4 grunts with a full load of ammo. I loved the Assult Rifle and how you could almost endlessly kill the flood with lots of ammo. But now the SMG is a weapon everyone tries to get rid of almost immeadiatelty. So thanks. [Edited on 7/16/2005]

You know what? I think this is BS becuase all those modders on XBC that don't even cheat on XBL that are some of my greatest friends and really good halo players yet bugie has to Kill all "Cheaters" Yeah right you killed every single non cheating modder out there too and the majority of all modders are legit you -blam!-s. Bungie you have now made halo 2 stupid cuase you guys think you stop something but yet you just downgraded half of your community cuase half was NON cheating son of a mofo's If my friends get banned from XBL be sure to get a long ass email from me and I will send it to microsoft this is the -blam!-est crap. My friends wouldn't be able to acess live on anythig else not even my 2nd fav live ame conker live and reloded I hope bungie you just -blam!-ed xbox live up you stupid homofo's

its annoying you work hard to get good ranks and then u play cheaters or hackers and u lose them y cnt u make it so u cant lose your rank once you have gained it that way hackers and cheaters would be no point anymore. most of my xbox live friends think its a good idea so take it into account

Well, as everyone knows, the Xbox 360 will have interchangeable faceplates, so my question is will there be any Halo faceplates? Sounds like easy money for you guys...

Ok, well, I would like to clear some things up, first off, I am a modder, listen, not a cheater. There is a difference, a modder is someone who mods Halo2's content to be fun, exciting, and something new, and the majority of the modding community frowns upon cheating on XBL. Cheaters now are people who think they're all that and a bag of chips by clicking a few buttons (I am intentionally not going into any further detail on that) and getting to have autoaim, super jump, etc etc. To prove my point on the difference between modders and cheaters, there are several Halo2 modding sites who shut down their forums until this patch comes out and probably the largest modding site even has a report cheating system to report cheaters, and trust me, there are hundreds, possibly over a thousand reports that have been submitted by this Modding site, not cheating site. And I am personally disgusted by cheating on XBL, and I am glad there is a patch coming out to counter act it. So please, refer to them as cheaters, not modders, because probably around .1% of cheaters on XBL know how to even mod worth a damn.

Modders are noobs who dont have any skill and even a level one newbie could beat them if they didnt have mods.
