To England.

On September 11th, 2001 I remember every last detail of what went on that day. After hearing about the attacks from a co-worker, I turned on the TV and watched in horror as the second plane struck the towers, and a third plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. I remember feeling helpless, scared, angry, and confused. Thousands of innocent people of all nationalities went to work just like any other day, and would never return home. That day, I hoped and prayed that there would never be another day like that day. Something else also happened on that day, and the days that followed. Stores began selling out of US Flags. People began wearing the colors of the country with pride. Chants of USA! USA! Could be heard anywhere there were more than a dozen people. This country became truly united again. We were united against any that would commit such a horrible act. Today, Your country has come under attack. More innocent people will not be returning home. More families will be without Mothers, Fathers, Sons, and Daughters. Millions more are feeling the same horrors that I felt on 9/11. Today, and the days that will follow, your stores will be selling out of flags, and your people will be proud to be wearing the colors of their country. Your country will become truly united again. United against any that would commit such a horrible act. Your a proud country, with proud citizens. And you have every right to be proud. It, and all your people will persevere, and become stronger, and more united than ever. So to all of you who are going through this horror, my thoughts and prayers are with you. But I have no doubt you and your country will survive this attack, and your resolve will be doubled. God be with you all. Adam

 •
Posted by: francesthemute8 Please, lets try not turn this into a which was worse flame war. Both acts were cowardly horrid acts that make me sick to my stomach. To England I give my greatest condolances. I will be praying for your country and your people. And to the US, we should stand beside our brothers and support them in there indeveros to purge the world of the filth that has done this. For England has been at our side in our times of need. I know that England will rise from this act a greater nation than it was before and I will be happy to see it. Jason
Well said. I don't know if this has been said before (i think it has) but basically, terrorism will only make us stronger. If those bastards think they can cripple our country, they should think again. We will have known the same horrors as our friends across the pond and will be more motivated towards the cause of removing terrorism from the world for good.

 •
Posted by: X626 My father was across the street from the WTC on 9/11. That was a very long afternoon waiting to hear he was okay. My thoughts are with our english cousins. As a side note to terrorists everywhere: You are an embarrassment to humanity, because your fanaticism is an insult to human life. You are an embarrassment to your "religion", because no muslim I know condones the loss of innocent life to further one's own selfish political goals. Lastly, you are an embarrassment to all intelligent life, because by attacking us, you only makes us stronger - the british and american people were speaking out against their respective governments demanding to know when our troops were returning home. Now the general populance of both countries will redirect their frustration from our respective governments back to the terrorists (to whom it should be directed at anyway - but that's another tirade). You, the terrorists, have only succeed in reminding the general population that you are cowards, and your cause is evil and a slap in the face of humanity. Well done, you, the terrorists, are doing more to help your enemies than you are in helping your cause. Truly you are the most pitiful excuse for a human being, and I pity your existence and I take great joy in knowing each and everyone of you will die painful deaths.
HOORAH!

 • Silly folks can go off on tangents about the scope of the tragedy and how it stacks up against other evil deeds, but that doesn't prevent the rest of us that have a heart and soul to feel for our fellow humans over in London. Indeed, for those of us with enough compassion, we are all Londoners today. Peace to all of you, sincerely - M

 • Yeh, cheers. It doesnt make alot of sense, i mean the timing of it all with the G8. I guess we'll find out the reason soon. Fortunately it wasnt near the scale of september 11th. Sorry though to anyone who has lost anyone. Religion is evil. ALL RELIGION.

 • London has a superb mayor. His speech on the attacks was one of the best I've ever heard. He could be the next Churchill.

 •
Posted by: ExposedPudding Well this is not hardly as bad as 9/11
Well why dont you just STFU you bastard! People have died, whether it is one or a thousand have died it doesn't matter! Have some goddamn respect for the fact that maybe only 37 people have died so far, but every victim has friends and family that are much more deeply affected by this disaster. There's people everywhere that are affected. If you can view the forums at HIH read this thread and look at what Ifailmath23 wrote. If you are stupid enough to not be able to click a link he said:
My Aunt and Uncle are ok but they cant find my cousin cant contact her or anything i hope shes ok
OK, he might find his cousin, but think about what he is feeling in between now and finding out she's OK. And if his cousin isn't OK, well, I think he might have some objections to what you have said here. To him it might be worse than a million 9/11's happening simultaneously. You should do exactly the same thing as what happens when you stand on the Terminal train tracks for a bit too long: Die. Go and crawl into a hole and die. We don't want you or your corpse messing up this planet again.

 • As I live in NYC I lost several friends in the 9/11 attacks. That was a sad time for all Americans and a sad time for all the world as well. Today, these attacks on London once again hit me hard, I have family in London and a very good friend of mine is vacationing in London right now and I have not gotten a call regarding the condition of any of them. My heart goes out to the people of London and all the people of the UK in this time of great sadness. I send my support to all those who are helping London recover from the terrible tragedy. • People of England I am praying for you. I was so scared at the time of 911. I live about 30 minutes away from Hartsfield Jackson Airport in Atlanta which is the busiest airport in the world. I was afraid there would be an attack there because of how busy it is and I was afraid my Dad would get hurl because he works right next to the landing strip. I know that isn't half as bad as what you guys are feeling but its still very scary. God bless

 • I am thank you for posting this. This is the biggest terrorist attack on my country in my memory. my thoughts are with the people who have lost family and friends. i dont think i would be able to carry on life as normal for a while if i had. Sure, i live in the north of england and though i personally am unaffected by this tradgey directly. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost someone in this attack. And i thank the heroes of London Metropolitan police, and the civilian heroes who knew exactly what to do in this crisis. And yes i am a young person (only 13 years of age), u may have guessed this from my comment about it being the largest terrorist attack in england in my memory, and i would just like to say, we young people are not all heartless chavs, but most of us are caring people who mourn the loss of 33 innocent people. BOMBS CAN BREAK TUNNELS AND WALLS, BUT NOT OUR SPIRITS!

 •
Posted by: Maimum FEAR This is the biggest terrorist attack in england ever. My prayers go with those families who have lost thier beloved ones and those injured. I hope this will help unite 2 great nations even more in the fight against terrorism. The terrorist are cowards who kill innocent civilians. They will never win. Our strength in our great nations, way of life and morale are greater than the terrorists desire to cause destruction and death. This tragic inncedent will only strengthen our resolve and the war against terrorism.
Actually, if memory serves me there have been several IRA attacks on par with this one in the recent past... Not forgetting the Lockerbie tragedy. They're all tragedies though.

 • That doesn't mean it's any less tragic. Innocent people have died. Killed by people who specifically targeted civilians to maximize the shock factor, and cause other countries to stop the war on terror.

 • 911 was 1 of the hardest days to live through. I'm a Canadien, yes out of harms way, but that morning my mom toke an airplane to fly across the country. Before everyone found out which planes hit the towers, the chance of my moms plane hitting the towers was great, at least in my mind. (To fly from my city to new york only takes 2-3 hours, the time of when she left and when the attack happened worked out almost perfectly). I remember sitting at home for over 7 hours waiting for a phone call from my mom to know she was alright. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I can only imagine how people feel in the UK. I hope all of you are as lucky as me and get a phonecall from your parents, son, or daughter knowing they are OK. My prayers go out to you.
