Bungie trying to push in recon?
It seems like now that many more people have recon and it is becoming less special even with halo 3 still out. Bungie seems to be pushing it with the Bungie vs The World Day and the Microsoft Challenge.
It's almost like they want everyone to have it because when out comes ODST everyone with live will have it and games will be based with strictly recon wearers. I rememeber when recon was hard to get with the screenshots let alone any other way.
Bassically I am saying that Bungie is pretty much just trying to hand out recon at this point and by the time ODST comes out I predict at least half the ammount of recon bearers will be doubled and when ODST comes out I would say in weeks the Recon population will double.
How special is Recon if everyone has it?

It'd be pretty cool to play and beat bungie, so why not. The fact that people are going to be getting it so easily when ODST comes out is annoying, its like what was the point of trying to get recon and working towards it if bungie was just going to give it out anyways? the vidmasters are pretty hard. 7 on 7 and lightswitch are easy, but the annual is the hardest achievement in the game, brainpan will be easy to get, but the other 3 will be extremely hard.

I have been to the realm of Halo ODST's achievements and back, and while im not legally entitled to say what the last vidmasters entail, i will say that they will [i] not [/i] be easy. One especially could take even an experienced halo veteran awhile.

Meh...Security is much cooler, and you don't have to go out of your way to impress the community to get it. Recon is a fad, and a very uncool one. Eventually it will mean absolutely nothing in terms of prestige as everyone who has completed the vidmaster achievements will receive it. I do not think this style of community manipulation by Bungie will be done after the release of ODST...I would wager that Bungie will create another community coveted armor permutation, unique colors, emblems - SOMETHING..that will set apart the patricians and plebians when Reach hits the shelves...assuming Reach is as popular as Halo 3. Recon will become available to everyone - and a giant floppy set of bunny ears will take its place in the next game.
