My Tips To The Flaming Ninja Challenge! (COMPLETED no deaths)

Hey guys. For those who haven't heard, [url=http://www.bungie.net/News/Blog.aspx?mode=news#cid29333][b]The Flaming Ninja Challenge[/b][/url] is back for Halo Reach. I have completed it, all in one run, with no deaths, and no checkpoints used. I even collected the hidden Sniper Rifle and Grenade Launcher at the end. This is definitely a difficult obstacle course. However, I'm here to help you complete it, and get a great time. So let's get started- [quote][b]Starting Point[/b][/quote] So lets start this. First thing you're going to do is head forward, and start sliding down the ramp, attempting to avoid the landmines. To get past this section, you are going to start to the LEFT of the ramp, and slide down. As you are sliding down, start holding right on your joystick in between the first and second landmines. As soon as you slide over the second little ledge, you should be aiming down the middle. Try to land in the center of the force field, and it will catapult you to the floating rectangles. After landing on the first one, jump down onto the lower rectangle, attempting to land on the corner sticking up. Clear the next two rectangles, and you're onto the first race section. Now that you've cleared the rectangles, you need to clear all the boxes. This area is in a soft-kill barrier, so you'll have 10 second to clear it. Immediately after you walk over the last rectangle, your timer starts. Immediately jump to the box in front of you, and then jump to the box on your right. Then, turn around, and jump onto the box behind you. Then jump to the box to your right, then to the box to your left, then spin to your left and jump onto the box over there, and then to the final box on your right. If you've done this right, you should reach the final box with 1 second left. After this area, you will need to safely jump across the series of small pillars and big boxes. This will give you time for your out of bounds timer to go back up. After you've cleared the last little pillar, you will be standing on a box. Jump up in the air, and you will enter the kill zone, which will tell you if your timer is all the way back up. If it is not at 10 seconds, then wait roughly 10 seconds for your timer to catch up. After that, You will need to jump onto the first box, then to the box on your right, and then to the box on your left, and then spin around to your right and jump onto the box there, then keep spinning right, and jump to the next box, and then jump to the next box on your right, and then finally make the last desperate jump to the final box. Mid-air your timer will stop, and usually if done correctly, this will be at 2 seconds. For the next part, you will need to jump onto the small triangles, and then jump onto the little pegs and then jump onto the next triangle. Finally, you are at checkpoint 1. [quote][b]Checkpoint 1[/b][/quote] Alright, this next section is really tricky. You are going to need to build up momentum by going into the teleporter, and then falling back through it multiple times, each time building up your speed and height. You will need to fall 4 times, so in total, including the first time you enter the teleporter, you will teleport 5 times. After this final time, you will need to launch yourself over the gap to the next area, by landing on the red force field. This forcefield will break your fall, and you'll land safely onto the next platform. The next test is the anti-gravity area. First, grab the custom powerup right in front of you. Immediately jump to the platform in front of you. Once on the next platform, you will need to turn to your right. There will be a pillar there. You will need to jump to the left of this pillar, and land on the platform hidden behind it. If you need to slow yourself down, or change direction quickly, rapidly pressing the crouch button helps. After this jump, you will need to jump to the right of the pillar in front of you, and land on the platform there. After that, stand on the very edge of the platform, and you will need to make a small jump to the platform right around the corner. Use the crouch method here to change directions. From there, jump to the platform on your left, and then to the platform on your right, and you're out of the anti-gravity area. The next section is what I like to call the Bank Area. What you are going to do is jump from the higher platform to the red forcefield on your left, and immediately jump, and the forcefield will launch you back to the right, successfully banking you around the pillars. After doing this twice, you are onto the final bank jump. You will see a slanted forcefield in front of you. You must jump and crouch onto this forcefield, and immediately jump and crouch backwards, which will land you on top of the pillar. After that, you must jump across to the Explosive Bridge. You are going to jump onto this bridge, which will start a bouncing motion. You will bounce forward to the first set of landmines. Jump in-between the two on the sides, and jump over the one furthest up and in the middle. Immediately following this, bounce over the next set and move to the left. Then bounce to safety. After this, you are at the Forcefield Launch. Move as far right as you can on your platform. You are going to jump into the blue forcefield, which will launch you through the gap, and keep moving left, and go through the next forcefield, and the final gap. After making it past that section, you are now at the Soccer Ball Teleporter. The trick here is that in the middle of each atrium, or doorway, on the the winding bridge, there is a teleporter, which teleports you into the mancannon/soccer ball situation going on behind you. What you are going to do is wait by the entrance of the doorway, and watch the soccer ball. When you see the soccer ball go over the teleporter, it has blocked the teleporter, allowing you to go through. The trick here is to move slightly before it goes over the teleporter, as you must still clear some distance between you and the invisible teleporter. In case you mess up, you will be teleporter, and will have to escape the mancannon again. This just takes some practice, and as long as you dont get splattered by the soccer ball, you're pretty much clear to Checkpoint 2. [quote][b]Checkpoint 2[/b][/quote] Ok, so after the Soccer Ball Teleporter area, you are going to come to the Kill Ball Ladder. What you are going to do is stand on the right ladder, and time your jump, and avoid the killball and jump to the left ladder, and immediately back to the right ladder. There are 7 jumps here. You will do the first 3 UNDER the killball as it goes past you, and 4 ABOVE the killball. After beating the ladder, you are onto the Green/Red Pillar Bridge. The directions are on your left. Green pillars are good, while Red pillars have death barriers on them. Counting from the closest in the front to the back, here are the pillars you are allowed to jump on- 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, and 14. That means you are going to have to jump over Red pillars to get there. Just count out the pillars, and jump on the safe ones I've listed above. The next area is the Asteroid Field. Unlike the arcade game Asteroids, shooting these rocks does nothing for you, except make you look stupid. It is easy to slide off the rocks or get turned around in this maze, so pay attention to your surroundings. You are going to jump onto the first small rock, and then jump to the small rock on your left, and then to the top of the medium rock in front of you. Jump to the small rock on your left (be careful to land right on top and not slide off), and then to the tip of the large rock in front of you. From here, you will need to jump down the left onto the small rock below (you can bounce off the grid wall if you need to). From there, jump to the small rock in front of you, and then to the medium rock on your right. Drop down to the large rock below you, then drop down again to the other large rock, and then once again drop down to the next big rock. Then jump on the small rock to your right, and then to the tip of the large rock to your left. Turn around, and jump to the large rock that was behind you, then jump again to the next big rock behind it. Then jump to the small rock following it, and then turn around. Jump to the large rock in front of you, and then to the small rock to your left, then the large rock in front of you, and then the small rock after that, and you've made it to Checkpoint 3.
