All I can think of is, either rollback the patches or switch to a 32-bit OS.

The problem resolved itself after I rolled back this IE8 patch: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP x64 Edition (KB969897) I guess I won't be web browsing from the server comp. anymore. Thanks for the reply.

I guess we can call this one confirmed. Running dedi's on SVR2K3, 32-bit. Started getting the error last night. After reading the traffic here, rolled back the update and voila! Happy dedi's again.Going to go and post this on my MSDN forum.

Its back again with the 7/28/09 IE8 sec patch KB972260. Any buz on the MSDN forum about this Balboa?

Confirming the problem on Server 2K3 SP2 as well but only for KB972260. The problem affected Halo PC, dedi, and Halo CE. My GPU is Nvidia. I removed this update and the error went away.
