The playlist updates are setting a dangerous precident. If a perfectly balanced weapon combo (PP/BR) can be removed simply because it gives some players an advantage, what's to stop Bungie from further leveling the playing field by removing the next-most-effective weapon or combo. Oh yes, there will most certainly be a successor to the PP/BR combo, and once it reaches a certain level of popularity Bungie may decide to remove it. All voice communication must be banned during gameplay, of course, because it can lead to better communication and give a team of headset users a powerful advantage over a team of mutes. Where does it stop? Maybe by 2006 we will be running around perfectly symmetric (e.g. boring) maps using the only weapon that hasn't been banned - the single SMG. Then somebody will decide that the single SMG is much too powerful, and Bungie will replace it with a Nerf gun. Do you know what you're left with when you remove all of the dynamic components of combat from a combat game? Rockem Sockem Robots... that's what. I realize that Bungie is in favor of democratic gameplay, and I certainly applaud them for removing legitimate problems like greifing. But this is a silppery slope, and I hope they know what they're doing.

The new update is amazing. Woot for Bungie, but it really sucks that we can't actually play a neutral flag game in a custom game, like you can in matchmaking. Oh well.

"i have never cheated on halo2 nor will i ever result to those cheap tactic's, but now instead of cheating there is only camping." camping is a lignimate stradgy it may be cheap but if it works it works so dont wine and get better. hey ive had prblems with campers but i just got better and used the flaws in that stradgy to my advatage.

U were dumb to reset all the levels. Now I get mad at this game and just want to throw the game across the room. We have to play people that r better then we are and we get mad because people r too good. Next time u should think about that. Now if I had a new game i would play that game instead but i just cant play another.

man i hate that u guys removed the radar caus i use the radar sooo much and it gives people who actualy pay attention to the radar an advatage over those who dont. and sence we people who have the ablity to do two things at once can no longer take advatge of the talent. and i like my talent to do things like that. but ill just have to suck it up and look over my back every couple of seconds now. oh the thing with them fly the bomb to imposibale places. its called a rocket launcher for a reason. and u can also just wait for the banshee to respawn after u blow it to hell and go there and kill the person. so all of u who think its unfair with the banshee three simple words for you people. I think the new update is good for the most part.... The only major negative thing i have incountered is it seems i keep playing the same maps multiple times... for example team slayer on assention (spelled wrong im shure) 7 times in a row... 7 times in a row.. 7 times in a row ( i just kept quitting after the 3rd)

I just got on here and I am amazed at how much freaking whining I'm seeing posted all over the board. Here's a thought, all the excuses people are making for losing, e.g. The 8 second respawn time on Warlock, are not disadvantages. You're opponents have the same respawn time. So kill them first. Did everyone expect the game to undergo a major change, but be able to keep winning without updating their strategies? Roll with the freakin' punches. [Edited on 5/5/2005]

HOLY FREKKIN CRAP....battle rifles + coag = snipers greaving wow its almost impossible to get some clean snipes but i like the challege

BTW wtf is with the 8 second respawn on Warlock especially in Double Team.by the time you die and respawn they can cap the flag.I've lost to that BS several times now.

Love the new matchmaking. People have to learn to change to somethings or get off the game, because I've had people complain about certain gametypes that are EASY to win at. Get over it, or get a different game.

I have to agree with what you have said. The BR on burial mounds is ok but the PP is still on that board. I don't really like everyone having a BR because like it has been said it turns into just a bunch of campers. Collussus with BR sucks majorly, the sniper isn't even worth getting because you can BR a sniper at either base from the sniper spawn. Beaver creak with BR sucks MAJORLY. i just played it, they had 1 guy on red base, one at blue, one at sniper, and one at rockets. there was no way any of my team could even get a shot off at someone. Co-Ag i haven't played with a BR but i don't think it would be a good map for everyone to have a BR in. things i've noticed in less than 24 hours. The BR kills in 2-3 shots. It use to be 5. Warlock sucks! I have played that map liek 10 times and only one game have i seen a score end within 20 points of each other. On all the new maps there are invisble walls all over the place but you still haven't managed to make it so you can't super jump onto the roof of zanzibar. the match making system still isn't perfect but is a little better and i do realize that asking for perfection is stupid so good job on that!

I'm SOOOOOOOOO happy. I love the way the matchmaking is now. The variety is better and I don't have to get mad about getting shot with the plasma pistol BEFORE the battle rifle bullets hit me. Bungie did a great job of thinking this through.

I Hope bungie reads this....the Double Team game blows...it needs to be all out slayer...CAPTURE THE FLAG IS SO -blam!- AND HORRIBLLY RETARDED ON DOUBLE TEAMS...there must be something wrong or you guys dont look at the matchlist before you send them out...WTF GUYS honestly how do you do a Capture the flag on Ivory Tower...with 2 freaking people..what kind of idiots make these lists..and another thing who makes these games...ITS A BUNCH OF FREAKING AMATURES...and i can get a whole bunch of people to back my theory up YOU GUYS MADE HALO...wtf is with these "capture the flag"...horrible..i refuse to play it cause of that, i like the human selection on beaver creek though thats pretty nice but CTF is not a 4 man game its barelly a 8 man game, let alone 4. If anything you guys should categorize the list so that people can play what their good at. Were not trying to show off our skills...we're just trying to have fun but its hard to do so when we play 4 man games of 6 rounds of CTF in a row...i happen to like CTF but for 4 people....its too stupid and useless...and one more thing...in one of the earlier topics before the update came out, Bungie said their going to tone down the Battle Rifle and Plasma Pistol combo...what by making the Battle Rifle stronger...WHAT THE HELL????? The battle rifle now kills one round of bullets faster than before...how is that toning it down? Real smart..thats one way to get fans attentions...im very dissatisfied with the Dbl Team...but thats my opinion...im not going to play it again until the CTF is replaced...it should be all out slayer..cause this is pathetic and so do many other people say so too, but thats just our opinion. well i've been egearly awating this update for month's now! i'm extremely happy it came, but i must say that bungie has failed misserably at some of the new matchmaking update's!! (extremly angry and let down) now on map's like bever creak, collosus, and coagulation are now runied by putting a battle riffle in every person's hand's! getting that weapon was not only part of the statagey of winning the board, but what good is it now if your giving minuture sniper rifle's to everyone? i HATED the plasma pistal combo more then everyone, but come on, YOU TOOK AWAY ALL UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL FIGHTING ON THOSE BOARD'S!!! now instead of making the board's more evenly balenced you've turned it into a camping fest! nobody use's the duel welding on those board's now! what good is it on coagulation if you you get into a vehicle, and your being shot from four direction's the moment you get on the back of a warthog? there is no chance of coming from behind now if you loose your team's sniper rifle and if you dont have the rocket's! everyone just sit's in the cave's and pick's you off while being behind rock's. it's turned that board the the other's that i mentioned into complete boardom and waist of time playing! i only play the slayer game type, cause it's the funnest, and the spot with the least cheating on it. i have never cheated on halo2 nor will i ever result to those cheap tactic's, but now instead of cheating there is only camping. i play halo2 for the reason's that i want to shoot someone up close and personal while duel wielding or with a perfectly timed granade. both of those are now moot point's on those three level's. what could and should be done is have just taken of the plasma pistol (the one the drop's your shield with one hit) in bever creak and collosus completly away, or made that weapon weaker so it would have been less desirable to use it!!! i aslo played the matchmaking team slayer for 11 hour's yesterday, and i only saw one new board, which was warlock, and in that time period it only came up twice. the new team preview is also a bust, if you dont like playing all the other game types!!! there favored heavily on the new map's, but rairly get to play team slayer on them! i sincerly hope someone at bungie read's this, cause i'm not the only one that feel's this way!!! everyone has the right to thier own opinion, and this one is from a large majority of people on my friend's list who feel the same as i do about this new update! i respect everyone else's opinion's even if i dont agree with them, but when i have to pay $50 for this game, and get cheated on a regular basis by the pothetic modum glitching, and map anomilies it make's it not worth while to play this game any longer! i unfortunatly sold all my other game's when halo2 came out cause i thought it was going to be the end all be all of online gaming. i have a work injury and use playing halo2 as rehab for my injury, and to pass the time from not being able to do alot of the everyday thing's that most people take for granted, and i'm happy to see that bungie is trying to make a differece in the online gaming expeirence while playing thier game, but what it did was take the FUN & ACTION right out of the game!!!! thank's for the taking the time to read my book, lol, and i hope that some sort of counter measure can be made about the update's that i meantioned in this post???? I have several friends who are much better than I am, but they were nearly 10 levels below me in everything. They weren't bad, they just hardly played. It can take a lot of games to get to the rank you're supposed to be at, and even more if your friends list is MIA that night. (about 75% of my friends list doesn't play anymore, thanks to all the griefing after the rank reset hit the Bungie news)

that new update was pretty cool other than the fact that u most of the time start off with a br and that really sucks because than people can just shoot u across the map.
