Does Bungie actually take submitted news by members? From what I have seen, the only news I ever see are posted by Frankie, Achronos, and SketchFactor.
Edit - Spelled SketchFactor's name wrong.

Anywho I can now see why we never see SketchFactor on the forums.
lol thats a good one Goweb. I now want to go over to Chapter Founders and see if there are a few bad posts for me to edit. I always get a kick of rearanging clan ads ; )

I have just submitted a story about a tournament i'm going to arrange. To save you time i can officialy say, there's no spam and all of it is sensible (at least in my opinion). So please, i beg of you, please look out for it and don't delete it accidentaly.
Posted by: stosh I can accept(although I've spent the last 5 minutes rejecting!) news now too...so submit some good stories guys. I would like to hear some lan/xbl event tales.
Can we send in pictures too?
-
lol. well that and not just a small story about a boring matchmaking game.
-
Yea if by worthwhile you mean funny...
-
So we can submit stories about a regular match as long as it's worthwhile reading?

About submitted news, I suppose what they are trying to say is "Send us good, readable news, and we will post it." Telling about a cheater isn't news. Duh.
-
I don't think ive ever seen use news there in my entire life or 4 months on this site. Well, they are right theres just too much crap to shift through to get to any good stuff. Like trying to find an intelligent post on zanzibar. Possible but implausible. I don't know what implausible means. Is it a word?
-
Oh. i see. Sorry Sketch, please forgive me. Yes. frankie does seems to have a way with words.
Posted by: Gods Prophet
Posted by: SketchFactor its really freakin -blam!- when people on your team, escpecially when, they dont get any kills and you win the whole game by yourself. -blam!- spotty teen rank 13 in head to head had to cheat to win against level 9
I really do hate to sound horrible, but here, it isn't politically right to say "-blam!-". I don't know about there, but i would have thought you would have to be more careful of what you say. As i said, i really do hate to have to say it but i do think it needs to be said. Feel free to delete this post if you want and just so i'm not completely off topic, It is unfortunate that people don't submit better news. I think the problem is that most people don't know anything that Bungie are up to.
I think that you might have misunderstood Sketch's intent. He was using italics to show examples of typical news submissions. Submitted by members who are completely unaware that slurs and other inappropriate terms eliminate their news item right off of the bat. I believe that Sketch was trying to show that (just like the forums) many members don't think before they open their mouth (or start typing) and far too many of our members couldn't (even when they are trying) write a news article that would be appropriate, readable and "fit" to be front page news. I could not imagine any Bungie employee speaking or writing (especially in official context) in a manner that would use derogatory or offensive terms. Which I think leads us to the reason that most of the news items are from Achronos, Sketch and Frankie. For example, despite Frankie's many shortcomings *grin*, he can write in a mostly coherent, legible and properly phrased fashion. It probably has something to do with his sordid (or semi-sordid at the very least) past.

They advertised the box set for the new 9 maps. (Or at least, someone did) [Edited on 4/10/2005]
Posted by: Josher 35 I believe they would've waited a little while to sursprise us, but Microsoft kind of screwed that up.
How did Microsoft screw up the DLC surprise?
-
It might cut down on the hype of the game, but the reason they are so secretive is because they don't want to ruin what is about to come to us fans. Like the new multiplayer maps. I believe they would've waited a little while to sursprise us, but Microsoft kind of screwed that up.
Posted by: Hyper b0y you do realize that all of the people you listed work for bungie right? You can tell. when you look at someone's profile read the MemberID If it is anything under 5000, asume they work for bungie.
Try not to be incredibly stupid, if you can help it at all.
