And that's as official as you get. Fresh from Xbox.com .

Well, "fresh" is a bit of a stretch (GDC was last month). This info has been chewed over for a while (but to be honest it was pretty much ignored on these boards which surprised me.) Things you can learn for Allard's speech are: Save up for the HDTV. You'll be wanting one. Microtransactions - you'll be buying new maps, skins, etc. Free DLC isn't going to be in anyone's vocab XNA - Developement of games should be a lot easier, which should help keep costs stable...probably won't make games cheaper (Activison has said they plan to go up to $60+ per game) A teraflop of processing power - Wow. That's a lot. PS3 is rumored to be more powerful... scary. But the unveiling of the PS3 has been delayed until at least E3.

Hmm.....I just read it again. I heard that it's name is XENON, but there is no mention in the story though. Edit: Oh, it's right on the top *slaps self on head* [Edited on 3/31/2005 8:47:33 AM]

OMG....in one of the high res. screens, halo 2 is on the "Games played" list! Halo 2 just may be on Xbox 2!

Well, most people believe that was just an example. There is talk that the Xbox2 will be backwards compatible but also rumors that they haven't been able to get it to work.
Posted by: KaiQom new xbox isnt named Xenon .. its called... But someone else apparently already owns www.xbox360.com, so if they go with that name someone can expect a big check from MS. Halo 3/Halo 2.5 coming at release = there was a rumor months ago that there would be 2 or 3 different Xbox2/whatevers released: one without a hard drive, one with a hard drive and maybe a home media version. The rumor was that the hard drive one would have Halo 2.5 (or Halo 2 Enhanced or some such) already loaded on the hard drive. I used to think this was silly but it does make a certain amount of sense.
