I just dropped my ds from about 5 feet, and now the majority of the screen is a big black blot surrounded by a rainbow!!
A 5 foot drop and the screen breaks.
I just looked through my warranty and it doesn't cover -blam!-!!
What sort of piece of -blam!- warranty wouldn't cover screen damage!?
My screen is a big black blob, and that isn't covered in the -blam!-en warranty!
Does this mean i have to pay to get this piece of -blam!- repaired!?
My gameboy advance doesn't even break from that drop!!

Ouch, LCD screens are pricey. i broke mine on my cell phone, put it in the freezer (thats right, the freezer) for about and hour then let it warm for a few minutes, then turn on. there is a small chance this will fix it. bummer for you
-
Freezer eh? Well the place i got it from doesn't open for 12 hours and my freezer is 24/7. What the hell
-
All that did was fog up the screen
-
i did tell u to turn it off first right....well you should have. and it hasnt been a half hour yet so try a little longer, the cold will not hurt anything. the fog will go away after you let it slowly warm back up.
-
A half hour? hmm... ok EDIT: Probably should make it an hour to be safe... now I need to kill an hour *puts on Led Zeppelin IV* [Edited on 3/24/2005 1:15:13 AM]
-
dont turn it back on until its warmed up a bit.
-
This makes me wonder about my new DS i got today...*sigh* lol
-
dont drop it 5 feet. actually i bet u could find a skin that has rubber corners if u are the clumsy type
-
Half an hour, the giant black blob looks a little faded, but it may be the fog
-
I took it out of freezer, now i'll just wait for it to thaw, there is still the big black patch though. There is no trace of the 2 little cracks though
-
Ok.. the crakcs still there... all that did was make my ds wet
-
HA HA you have a soggy DS. you should not listen to people named cacaking on the internet. never take advice from someone you dont know personally. [Edited on 3/24/2005 6:18:08 AM]

omg why in the wrold did you listen to does guys, man it's like it you got gum on your hair and put lemon froze it put penut butter and try chewing it out. you should buy a rubber case for it if your house dosen't have a carpet, an use the little wrist ban thing on your wrist not on your thumb that way it won't drop. it sounds like it's pretty busted if you still got the 90 day waaranty send it back and get a new one.
-
I'm afraid you've dropped it in just such a way that the LCD popped. If you bought the DS from a chain -- bring it to them, and tell them it's not working -- they should exchange it. I wouldn't mention the dropping. And ALWAYS buy an extended warranty if it's availiable directly from the store (EB has a good program).
-
its a goner, I have seen that happen to a few of them, that and cell phones, that black dot will keep getting bigger and bigger, that sucks, take it back and see if they will hook you up, remember be nice!
-
yeah, EB always does the best warranty. they basically say "take it home, beat the crap out of it, bring it back, and we'll give you a new one."
-
Oh come on! if you drop it from 5 feet you can't blame it on the DS.
-
i'm curious to see how well a PSP would fare in such a drop. but yeah, if you're gonna drop stuff it's going to break. gravity is a harsh mistress.
-
nintendo is usually prety good about fixing stuff just call them and tell them the problem and keep calling untill you talk to someone who says they can have it fixed for free
-
and you can always say "if i can't get this fixed i might as well just get a PSP"....that might make'em crack.
-
PSP get one agggggggh
-
OMFG. I cant believe u actually put that in the freezer. All that probably did is make it worse by getting little ice crystals into the DS. Now they are going to melt and short circuit that poor little pos.
-
i was waiting for somebody to catch that. lol, people are so fukin stupid they will believe anything!
-
i think a mod should ban cacaking for being a idiot, and ruining someone`s DS even thou the suck ass.

Now they are going to melt and short circuit that poor little pos.
Freezing actually works with Hard drives, sometimes. But put it in a freaking ziploc bag, dumbass! (<--not talking to MasterOfPie, just people freezing stuff in general) Also, use a straw to suck the air out before sealing the bag. That way it is DRY and cold. Basically, your hard drive crashes, you freeze it for 12 hours, then slap it back into your computer before it warms up, and you might have time to back up your info before it's gone for good. This doesn't always work. (For example, my 60GB drive had failed circuitry, and thus didn't work at all.)

i think he ruined his DS, not me. I'm sure a small bit of fog (that will dry) did not contribute to the death of his LCD. I was just having a bit of fun.
