Here. . If halo or any game gets blamed, this country is so -blam!-. Cars cause deaths too, we gonna ban them? Jeez, this country is really -blam!-. Why blame games? Why not movies? Why not the wars? Why not Bush? If I hear halo was involved, that's going to be dumb.

Blame his parents? What parents, his dad killed himself 4 years ago. The kid was raised by his grand parents; which he killed. The grand parents prob had something to do with this, and oh yea the fact that he was a loner and all his classmates picking on him prob had a lot to do with him killing a bunch of them. Pretty similar to the colombine situation, It all comes down to lack of parenting and kids making fun of him to much. So all you kids out there, watch out who you pick on, cause he might come back to kill you! [Edited on 3/22/2005 10:46:04 AM]

First off, you can't blame the parents. The father killed himself four years ago. The mother is in a mental hospital becasue she has brain damage from a car accident three years ago. That is why he killed his grandfather, becasue he was living with him instead. It is just a tragic turn of events coming to its final fruition. I guess if you could blame anybody it would be societies lack of compassion for one another. Or he could just have some crossed wires upstairs . . . we'll never know. As far as blaming Halo . . . that would be ludicruous. At Colombine they blamed Marylin Manson (despite the fact that boys wrote in their journals they hated MM, and actually musically foloowed Insane Clown Posse), the media also blamed Jethro Tull for that suicide along time ago. The reality is you could theroetically blame anyone you want. Why stop at music, why not blame Stephen King for writing "Rage"? Better yet lets starting banning books! (sarcasm) Where do you stop on that slippery slope? The reality is you can blame any media outlet you want (books, music, video games,etc.). The reality is that if the person is determined to commit an act of violence they will do it regardless of the influences about them.
Posted by: MJOLNIR MARK V Halo will not get blamed. Probably, the kid's parents will if he is under 18 playing a M-rated game.
Won't happen...his father committed suicide 4 years prior and his mother is in a nursing home after a serious car accident that left brain damage. It also said he was teased for his appearance...this is a perfect example of what can happen if a lad is pushed over the edge because of bullying and being forced into xenophobia. Didn't have a good life at all from the sounds of it; now he and others who he had previously lived with and knew are also devoid of life. I hate the human race. Our best retaliation so none of this can happen in the first place (bullying)...a crappy anti bullying day or period of time where the logo is imprinted with something like "Make a stand, wear a band".

I feel like you are just asking for them to say something about it. Don't jump to any conclusions, that does you no good. If they do say something, and thats a mighty big IF then you can get your panties in a bunch about it. But until then whats the use in going on and on about it when there is really nothing to go on about? I understand what you are saying, I just don't see how it needs to be discussed.

Where has this crap ever been proven ever? I don't care if there was a realistic assasinate the president game. No matter how much you play it nothing makes you go out there and actually do it!! So 'TARDED.
-
Dude, you specualting that Halo even has a possibility of being blamed for this is the dumbest thing...besides the actual shooting of course.
-
Seriously, let's have a moment of silence for our fallen brethren.

Rampage is 15. That being said whether or not the media does blame Halo or any other game/movie/music/etc this is still a horrible thing to have happened. 10 people actually dead; No respawn timer, no extra lives, you can't restart the game. They're gone! This isn't something to joke about..
Posted by: Kopaka Metru The article says he went on a rampage which is wrong,he went on a running riots. you have to get 25 kills to get a rampage silly media not resarching this stuff.
I know. And I thought the media was smart. *All of a sudden the multiplayer voice says: "RUNNING RIOT!!!" [Edited on 3/21/2005 11:00:53 PM]

Blame the French? Ya, I guess so
-
i think blaming Flight Simulator games for the WTC was my favorite so far. morons.
-
i agree, blame the french for everything
-
i didnt see anything indicating video games were involved at all, and anyway there are already plenty of people blaming plenty of things on games, the fact is no one cares
-
If you can be influenced by a videogame, it's not the game that is the problem, it's the person playing it.

-

A video game programmer nerd Or A gun dealer with a warehouse full of guns video games are just the easier alternative And if you cannot tell the difference between a real life and a videogame and you blame your corruption on a game you should not be playing any video game
Exactly. Oh its not a parenting problem, oh -blam!- no! Lets blame something unrealted to the problem! Ahhhh, America.
-
Well, that's too bad. I'm sure Halo didn't have anything to do with it.
-
Posted by: Captain K Mart It depends on whether or not the guy actually played Halo at all. If he didn't then it would be pretty tough to blame Halo for anything having to do with this.
Yeah, but the kids at Columbine probably didn't play Doom. And who doesn't play halo? *Kid in background: "PS2 fanboys"* Who said that? Halo is the most famous game. Who wouldn't blame it?
