Is the BR overpowered?

I think we need to ask ourselves this. Is it? Well, it's arguable that the utility weapon should be used the entire game, considering it is made for all encounters. But is that necessary for the other weapons to be useful? Of course not, it makes those weapons pointless to pick up and use. But is that the case, or are the other weapons just so useless that the BR reigns? If you ask me, the other weapons are only designed for specific encounters, and not specific playstyles. For example, look at the Carbine, it is used on multiple enemies that have no shielding, making it good for taking out grunts, jackals, or killing other enemies in SWAT. But it is not intended, or at least not useful to the extent of the BR, in all circumstances available to the player in the game. I think I'll let you conclude, just wanted to bring out the question.

 •
Posted by: path1k it's easier to get a headshot in Halo 2 then another Halo game (at least i think it is) thanks to it's aim assist so you're usually unstoppable with a BR/Carbine.
This is right. More than just the aim assist. The larger hitboxes and button combos also weigh in as big factors. I've been able to win close quarter fights with people who are using an energy sword by crouching as they lunged then doing a BxR. Once you can beat someone that has a power weapon specifically designed for the situation you're in you know the weapon is a bit over-powered. :P [Edited on 06.20.2012 9:15 PM PDT]
