• Mission Statement

As the Darkness gathers, and the infernal creatures of the night manifest themselves upon the Earth, a malevolent shadow sets itself upon Humanity. The people of the Earth are blind without a light, a beacon that will guide and protect them until the dawn returns, and the Sun crests the horizon. The Ethereal Knights are that light. Our luminescence will scorch the wretched hides of our enemies, and they will be driven back into the blackness by our Light.

Living Exos

Edit: With all the excitement over the Exo Warlock from the weekly update people have begun referencing the old photo of a female Exo Hunter. It's a bit blurry, but here's a new, higher res version I just took: Female Exo Hunter Today's Weekly Update had a cool piece of info in it:
Thanks to private loot streams, we didn’t look alike for long. Sure, we were still both Warlocks. And yes, we both had the beating artificial heart of a nasty war machine, but we both found the means to be pimpin’ in our own special way.
I made a thread a long time ago speculating about the Exo; their origins, what they actually were, etc. This sentence essentially proves my theories that the Exos are more than just robots. Recently people have been saying that Exos are just machines created during the Golden Age, but I've always thought them to at least have some form of living organic tissue beneath their hard exoskeletons. (Exo = exoskeletal war machine?) With this new bit of info my guess has changed from my old theory (humans engineered with robotic exoskeletons) to the Exos having some form of synthetic tissue within the afore mentioned exoskeletons. It fits with the lore, and the fact that Deej specifically said "beating heart" implies that they are more than just robots with gears and pistons and wires. What do you guys think?

Well they said sentient machines, so... um... that is irrelevant. "artificial heart" ^Robot^ Also, they said they were 'sentient machines,' so... yeah. They're robots. In other news, about your title...
Living Exos
I suppose we'll also be witnessing a lot of dying Exos in the Arena too, yes? Hmhmhm.. c:

        • The artificial heart could be completely mechanical and still beat.. although it would be cool if they are partly organic.

          • It seems likely. Game informer has said that the vex, a robot race, has a organic component. Exos might be similar. Or they could be like the Robobrains from Fallout who have a brain in a jar on the top of their chassis. They do not have any memories and simply use the human brain for a CPU.

                  • Haven't read or watched everything related to Destiny yet, but I haven't seen anything yet that says they aren't straight up robots with AI. Would prefer that, would add another mystery to solve in the universe. Machines booted up with no memory and re-purposed as war machines? What were they for originally? What wiped their memories? If the original purpose was non-military and the Exos were tampered with during the repurposing, what does that do to the story and their status as Guardians? Do Exos split on deciding whether to keep being what they are or try to go back to what they were? Would they even be allowed to make the choice? Lots of drama to explore. Besides, how do you show the meatbags how it's done if you're part meatbag yourself?

The Exo are robots, not cyborgs. We've known this for awhile.

                    • I think some creative Machinima story tellers should make two Exos that look like R2-D2 and C-3PO and totally go all an Army of Two with them.

                      • I think he was taking poetic license, and that the Exo are all machine. The name thing is interesting though. Maybe they were originally going to be exoskeletons, but then, with the arrival of the traveler, we found a way to create sentient robots.

                      • Exos are not Cyborgs. They are fully robotic. Think of them more like the droids from Star Wars. Just smarter and can aim better XD.

                        • Exo, usually short for exoskeleton. Wouldnt surprise me that Exos are just people with robotics built into and onto them. Human is normal, Awoken is advancment through biology and Exos are advancement through cybernetics. Either way i dont really care, they are what they are and i'll still be making a Exo character.
