GPU vs. CPU

Here's a good article from NVIDIA on the difference: http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2009/12/16/whats-the-difference-between-a-cpu-and-a-gpu/ SETI@home will always default to using your CPU, but you do have the option to use your GPU if it's a certain model. CUDA-capable NVIDIA models, OpenCL 1.2-compatable Intel models, and Brook API-equipped ATI/AMD models appear to be the only ones compatible. This is slightly more involved than using your CPU, so I'd recommend following the advice of the experts in SETI's forums: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_forum.php?id=631
