I'm just curious what IDE you use, whether it's notepad or some super high-tech, stolen-government-secret program. I have, in the past, used various versions of these 3:

They've all got some advantages and disadvantages, of course, but I've used Eclipse the most lately just because of how well it seems to work for the Android programming I've been dabbling in.

I'm going to be the lonely Xcode guy aren't I.

CS5 for AS3. VS2012 for C# Notepad++ for screwing around.

I've added some links to current versions of the ones mentioned in the thread so far. Seems like the vast majority are free or at least allow a free trial.

MS paint, everything else is just for script kiddies.

notepad ++ for the most part.

Notepad++ and visual studio for C#

I like text editors/command line so I mostly use gEdit. Out of IDEs, I've used eclipse the most.

I use regular Notepad like a real man. Just kidding, Notepad++ is my baby.

Edited by EpicPineapple: 10/15/2013 7:28:30 PMSublime text. It's Notepad++ without the barebonesness, Eclipse/VS without the clunkyness, and Vim without the wtfness.

- Visual Studio for C# and C++ - NetBeans for PHP, Java, and occasionally Javascript - Komodo Edit occasionally for Javascript (it's probably the best IDE for it) - Eclipse for Java (when developing for Android) - Notepad++ for anything in general or web-related on a whim (PHP, Javascript, HTML)
