Enough with all the notifications already

38 private messages and 4 notifications, almost all of which are group walls and people asking to join groups I'm in, none of it I actually care about. And I last signed in yesterday. This is like when you leave your cell phone for an hour or two to charge and come back to find 72 text messages, all from group chats, none of which mean anything to you. It's mind boggling that this was ever implemented this way in the first place, but the fact that it's been this way for this long without any way to shut off is insane. This needs to be fixed so that the only notifcations I'm getting are replies and likes, and the only messages I'm getting are actual messages. Enough already.
