Getting Your Legendary Gear and Exotics
In case it's not common knowledge, I decided to talk about the importance of the Cryptarch.
In Destiny, leveling your rank (or Cryptology as I'm fond of calling it) with the Cryptarch as high and as fast as possible is the most important thing you can do, in terms of getting good gear.
It plays a large role in deciding whether the Blue Ingram you turn in rewards a purple item or a green item.
For example, at Rank 7 with the Cryptarch, I've been able to receive an exotic from a Purple Ingram.
Leveling your Cryptology rank is a slow process that involves buying as many Green Ingrams from the Cryptarch as possible at lower ranks.
However, this is invaluable later and will reward far more powerful gear in the long run.

I spent 10k on this and I still only have him at Rank 4.
