Weapon Archetypes!

While perusing the strategy guide, I found some interesting stuff but probably the most fascinating was Weapon Archetypes. A rule of thumb on page 229 says that a slower a weapon fires, the more damage it does Now on page 231we have a description of all the weapon archetypes, there's to much to write here but they're basically how each weapon works. Now on page 277 we get which gun types have what archetypes Archetypes are not indicated in game, but these handy tables can help you choose guns on the fly without needing to know much more. Example: Right now I have a Sahara-AR3, I'm not crazy about it but have been finding jack all for auto rifles. If I go to page 277, I find that the Archetype for these is Rapid, then if I go to page 231 I find that a Rapid Archetype is described as: Spray bullets, poor range, harsh recoil. This is an obvious example. This also illustrates why I can't seem to use this gun well in crucible. While it works fairly well in PvE, since Level and Attack ratings are turned off for normal PvP, the tiny impact rating on these guns severely limits the damage I can do per shot so I find I'm constantly being outgunned. I remember enjoying the Shingen E in the beta and it's listed at stable, so I may enjoy another auto rifle with this archetype as well.
