Mics and headsets

Just was wondering what kind of headsets everyone is working with if at all. Anyone planning to get a headset? Trading up maybe?

I have turtle beach x12 that a friend gave me. I only had to spend 10 bucks on a chat cable to make them work for my ps4, so I am pretty happy about that.

  • I have Turtle beach PX5. Surround sound very good and given my PvP skill level hearing people coming really helps!

  • I got the Golds when they were $70. They were surprisingly comfortable and the sound was generally useful. I only put them on when teamed up, though, unless they end up adding proximity chat. I'm also looking forward to the custom sound profile that I'm sure Bungie's going to be adding to the headset app once Destiny releases.

  • I use Astros A40 wireless they are quite pricey , but believe me from playing video games to watching movies , they make everything sound so much better , and Destiny is not the exception. BTW this message was brought to you by Astro just kidding.

  • I've have my iPhone buds but I noticed feedback during mic check. Also have a cheap over the ear single headset/mic that plugs into the controller. Then I have the Sony Pulse headphones. I use these mainly for watching movies since I live in an apt but they sound awesome for Destiny.

I've got the gold headset and it's great for the price. Wireless, good battery life, comfortable, works with anything Bluetooth that has USB and also with other devices via a male/male cord that's included. You can find them for $80 pretty regularly.

The Sony PS4 gold wireless ones were on Groupon a while back at a deep discount so I picked them up. Didn't use them for the Beta but will for the final release.

      • Honestly, I've never felt the need for any of these high end headgears... Plugging my skullcandy's with the mic into the controller has served me well during the beta. If it turns out that they aren't getting the job done, well then, the kids got a couple pairs of turtle beach upstairs. For now I'm just gonna ride it out with my earbuds
