Well this is Stupid....Bungie has a 75 clanmate limit!!! (UPDATE!!!)

Ok, so first of all I have to apologize. I guess I should have looked into this but it honestly didn't dawn on me that this could be an issue or that anything like this was in place....but I was not purposely misleading anyone into joining. After hearing numerous complaints that members were getting errors when trying to become Clanmates today (Clicking "Set as Playstation Clan"), which gives you the "Off Peak Army" tag in-game and brings you to our group page automatically when you click the "Clan" button here at the Bungie website, I did some checking and found out that Bungie has a 75 CLANMATE LIMIT ON ALL DESTINY GROUPS!!! What?!?! It is supposed to promote intimacy among clans or some crap but even so, 75 is too low in my opinion. HOWEVER, ALL IS NOT LOST (see the attached link above), there is a chance, A CHANCE, that this restriction will be reconsidered and revised upward. We can only wait and see. OK, so for OPA this means that nothing changes for any of the 75 members who are also Clan mates. Lucky Sum-Bitches. For the rest, those of you who are members but not Clanmates, you are still OPA, you can still make use of this Group page to the fullest, become PSN friends with all other members and Clanmates, post to the forums and Clan Wall, but you won't have the Clan tag in game (which I admit is cool, this sucks). You are also, free to leave the group if you so wish. If you never wanted the Clan tag in the first place, just the friends, you're golden also. Pending final word from Bungie on the Clanmate limit, I will stop all recruiting and edit all of my current posts that refer to setting OPA as your "Playstation Clan" as for now, it no longer applies to this Clan. I will keep you posted as things progress, if you find out before me (I have a life), feel free to let the Clan know. This is a Bungie restriction but it's my bad also....FORGIVE ME!! Peace, CS UPDATE!!! Thanks to Clan member G_D_Warhero for pointing this out!! The link above has been updated with the following from Bungie. "And, we're back. I talked to some guys here. That 75 clan limit was a bug. The total will be raised in Destiny actual. Maybe not as high as some of you want to see it, but it will be raised." So we still have no idea what the new Clan Mate limit is but more of you will be able to become Clan Mates come launch time!! Thanks again to G_D_Warhero!!

  • This comes from the link in the OP
DeeJ Edited: Jul 31 at 6:28:05 PM Permalink I'm looking into this. We do want for clans to be intimate combat units - the type of place where everyone knows everyone else, but 75 does seem low. Stay tuned... And, we're back. I talked to some guys here. That 75 clan limit was a bug. The total will be raised in Destiny actual. Maybe not as high as some of you want to see it, but it will be raised.
so it looks like we are getting a higher limit then 75, but that final amount is still tbd...

    • That is... ridiculous. I can see why there is a limit, but 75? I'd imagine it to be much greater than that.

    • Isn't there an alliance system? Multiple clans under one banner? I think Guardian Radio mentioned it. Maybe have an OPA For different time zones?

      • What about sister clans? Just offering advice. That does suck.
