Why upgrade at all

It doesn't matter whether you upgrade or not. Its not going to change the destiny world. You aren't going to save the earth, tower, or other guardians. By the way, you aren't alive in this game. You are a holographic project created by the ghost. The armor and weapons are just programming code. So, I mean who are the people in the city that you are working to save? What if everyone in the city is already dead? Have you met anyone in the city? So back to the subject at hand. Why? Why upgrade? In the crucible, you are automatically pitted against players as strong as you are. Its all balanced. So why upgrade? Why go on that new mission whether it be a story, strike, weekly, daily? Its just going to be the same as one you already beat. Why subject yourself to grinding it out? Why not just quit and play HALO or some other game? How many times are you going to beat Archon bullet sponge before you realize how repetitive and boring this is? Bungee wants you to pay $120 for the game and four planned expansions? Why?
