The Big Debate
So I made a topic about an hour ago about casual players. The ninja's deleted it and gave me a warning. I think that they saw it as a 'personal attack' on members of this site.
For me, I was simply putting out my own view and it was open for debate and discussion.
I respect that the ninja's have taken this action and I meant no harm at all. It was only in response to another topic that somebody made about why the word 'casual' is used as an insult.
I'm a very committed member of this community. I have spent alot of time with my various groups and clans. I have learned and I have taught others in all things Destiny. I'm not a troll or a try hard. I'm just passionate and dedicated. Not everyone is and thats okay. But there are some names that get thrown around the forums for certain attitudes towards the game. Passionate people like me get called names and labeled. Same goes for players who aren't really that bothered and just want everything easy.
Edit: The Big Debate was...
- The definition of the word 'casual', how it has changed over time and what it means to be one.
- The definition of 'filthy casual' and and why hardcore players use this term in Destiny.
- Whether or not a casual is better than a hardcore player in real life.

Personally I see myself as a 'casual'. Not quite sure what it's supposed to mean now, but I always thought it was just people who played to kill time and have fun. I always thought a 'hardcore' player was someone who took the game seriously, where they always wanted to be the best of the best at the game.

The ninjas really got you spooked up ey? Besides Bungie hate casual players. Don't believe me? Let's have a look at Destiny shall we, the Raid requires 6 players to put hardcore amount of effort and time to complete (but... But... But the raid is easy, it only takes 1 and a half hour to complete!) well that's cause we have played the raid numerous times, we are talking fresh raid virgins here! The Iron banner requires tons of effort and time to reach rank 5 (but for a hardie a weekend is all it takes to reach 5) Right now Bungie is 1943 Germany, hardcore players are white people whit blond hair and blue eyes, and you can guess who the casuals are!

2 RepliesI didn't see your first post. But it sounded good lol. I don't get caught up in any talk, I just play the game to have a good time, and leave. I come on the forums, these forums, because you guys are just like me, passionate about gaming and I look forward to talk to like minded individuals. I don't care about any of the negativity or crap that people talk about. I've actually had to stop myself from posting on negative forum posts' because it gets me absolutely nowhere. You can't stop people from be annoying, but you can ignore it, mindfully chuckle, and move on to someone worthy of your precious time.

1 ReplyIm curious now what you posted. Its because of destiny and basically thanks to you I've gotten into forums. In my opinion everyone should be allowed to vent on here, but i have learned no matter what you say someone's arse gets chapped or you get trolled. Only here in the thorns have I found some peace in the abilty to post and talk without being trolled.

1 ReplyEveryone gets called names in here, and that crap really needs to stop. Not sure what your post was about but I am interested as I consider myself a casual. I like debating because it brings several points of view to an argument. This is a video game forum though and that usually does not happen.
