How I beat the Archon Priest Nightfall (and you can too!)

EDIT: Now linked with a YouTube video of the fight. Skip to 8:36 I don't know if this method has been shared already, and apologies due for not having a video for this, but I figured I'd share this tactic me and some friends used to beat this week's Nightfall vs. The Archon Priest. I have to say, that even with all 3 Burns active, this Strike was still well easier than last week's against Valus Ta'Ruc. BEFORE YOU BEGIN- *Stock up on Ammo Synths if you have the Glimmer, especially Special & Heavy, because as I said, all 3 elemental burns are live (Void, Solar & Arc), so just as they can damage you severely, so too can you do massive damage as well. Okay now...TO BATTLE!!! SECTION 1- Entering The Cave Take it slowly. That applies to this whole strike. At level 28, most enemies will be able to 1-2 shot you easily, so use your elevated position against the Fallen & Vex and do precision damage, falling back to recover if you're in the red. If you're in critical condition, DO NOT FIGHT YOUR WAY OUT. Run & Recover, or prepare to rejoin your team as a failure. Be careful of the Hobgoblins in the second cave area who have higher ground. They will OHK you so somebody needs to prioritze them with a sniper rifle while the others focus on the ground forces. SECTION 2- Cracking The Door For the majority of this fight, you need to be perched up on the rocks overlooking the battleground below. Start by sniping the Fallen & Vex but leave ONE Goblin alive so you can go down and grab whatever ammo drop comes up and save some synths. Or just use them and stay elevated. Whoever goes down needs to activate the door and get back up to the rocks IMMEDIATELY, then all of you proceed to pick off the 3 Vex waves. Be mindful of the Hobgoblins in wave two who will be close to your zone (RPGS or grenades will suffice), and that Minotaurs have a Void Shield while the Harpies have an Arc Shield. SECTION 3- The Pike Run DO NOT SUPERTHRUST! Drive slow, like you're in a lowrider...keep a distance and burst fire with the Pike's guns on the Vex . I recommend one Guardian to be on foot and stay back with his sniper rifle and pick off any leftovers. Alternately, you can run one Pike waaaaaay in the back of two Guardians on foot using cover for all it's worth. The Pike burst fires from distance and gets whatever hit markers it can, while the ground team uses their specials & heavies to take out the Vex as fast as possible. Try to avoid using your Primary here, use the Burns to your advantage. When you reach the final area with the two Hydras, be extra careful of the Goblins on the ledge to the right & use that rock in the center as cover while you smash them with RPG rounds and grenades. You need to take them out as fast as possible then focus on the Hydras. If one of you can stay on a Pike and burst fire them, that's gonna speed things up. FINAL BATTLE- Slowly creep in and take down the last of the Vex. That entrance area is now your new home for the rest of this fight. Each of you are going to take turns peaking out from around that corner and popping the Fallen with whatever you've got. When you're in trouble, hop back up on the high ledge...ground troops will not pursue, but Shanks (who will all have Solar shields) can fire up there, so be mindful of this. After you've cleared those initial waves, it's time to release the Priest. Just like in section 2, one Guardian does that and immediately returns to that chokepoint. You then do the same as before, firing on him to lure him over to you. He will park it to the right of the rocks that are now blocking you from certain doom. Now here is where two guardians armed with as much RPG ammo as possible will take turns popping out behind the corner and blitzing him with rockets (damage type doesn't matter because they all do 2x). There will be adds- Dregs, Vandals, Captains and the Servitor hovering around...ignore them if you can and focus fire on the Priest. Remember those Shanks can attack you from behind the corner as well, so make your you stay on the ledge when you retreat. Guardian #3 should be taking care of them. Continue to stick & move until he's ash & then reap your rewards. The Boss strategy works double effectively if you're Hunters because you can go Stalker, slip through any crowd surrounding the Priest, attack & retreat. In any case, you will have to get back up to the entry point ledge as fast as possible to avoid getting popped. You can also use Stalker to scout around where enemies are to better line up your shot. Using this method we beat him first time go without ever even having to worry about the Vandal snipers across the map. I will post a video later tonight of you need visual aid, but this method should get you through well enough. Just remember to take your time and don't rush into any of the firefights. A sure and steady hand will win the day.
